LOOKS GREAT, I love it! only if i could come up with the money dang being a teenager with no job! Stupid question, I am guessing ther is going to be more than one color scheme?

DLEVETT -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/5/2007 4:31:47 AM)

Hi guys, Nice plane can anyone tell me what size spinner does the Extra need?

thx Dave

rc-plane -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/5/2007 4:35:08 AM)

Since I like this plane so much I decided to READ. I like this plane even more, I really like the graphics on the first couple of pages I didnt see earlier. I will have a hard time deciding on the color.

Say hello to my dream plane!

SANTA guess whats going on my list!

Rush7 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/5/2007 4:42:47 AM)

It is going to use a 4" spinner. I cant decide on a fiberglass or an aluminum spinner. I guess that I will decide that once I figure out where my CG will be.

There will be two schemes the blue / yellow and the red, white and blue. I was dead set on the yellow and blue when I saw it at the Huckfest but after looking at them more and more I have changed my mind and I am going to be getting the red, white and blue.

nick05 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/5/2007 11:17:14 AM)

the undercart install took me a little bit of working out but if you cut the covering around the slot in the infill to expose the bolt holes, then feed the nuts an bolts in then once the fairing is installed it will cover the slot, installing them this way gets that infill panel down nice and flush and once the fairings have the supplied rubber tube glued around the edgeing this fiddly job comes out looking the nutz!

p.s i attached the fairings with a few dobs of silicone just inside the edge where it meets the legs so it can be easilly cut out (if need be) by sliding a scalpal blade around it.

nick05 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/6/2007 7:21:28 PM)

DA is installed on 2.5" stand-offs, spinner plate in picky is 3.5" so defo 4" to suit best.....

rc-plane -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/7/2007 12:07:30 AM)

Dave Wilshere -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/7/2007 9:00:58 AM)

Guys

We have a 50mm dia Pipe/Can for the DA 50 to fit in Extreme Flight tunnels.
Usual sweet running Zimmermann set up too.
Twin outlet pipes!

mflander -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/7/2007 1:37:09 PM)

Dave... price? performance? Do you have the manifolds needed also?!? I have a DL50 coming for my extra(same as the DA) and am wanted to do a can...

DLEVETT -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/7/2007 6:38:27 PM)

Hi Dave,
I,m assume that the can has a inlet dia. of 25mm if its for a 50cc plane?
If so can you PM me with the cost of the Zimmerman can in cdn. funds to postal code N1H 1L3.
I,d like to try one instead of getting another MTW can for my Yak.

thx Dave

Dave Wilshere -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/7/2007 6:43:19 PM)

Sorry for late reply

It's too new I won't have a price for a week.

Yes 25mm inlet

I'm working on a new DA 50 powered model so when I run it I'll give RPM figures.

Regards

Dave Wilshere

Rush7 -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/7/2007 9:24:10 PM)

Getting there Chris - almost perfect.

The last upgrade missing would be a cowl with a inner ply ring that attaches to the firewall with 4 bolts - like the Aeroworks and PAU models.

Alignment to fuse is perfect every time and there is less wear on them holes in the FG cowl.

I just read through this thread and the plane looks awesome.

But I have to agree with yarom on the cowl ring. Any chance this will be done as a mod to future shipments?

Dave Wilshere -> RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!! (12/9/2007 11:09:47 AM)

Rush7

I'm not sure who handles it in the US

We can always send one over

Dave Wilshere

Have had other planes with cowl rings. They are nice but you usualy have to set your own firewall with them. It would be a no brainer if there was only one engine manufacturer available but alas they are all different sizes/brands for choice.

I would rather a factory set firewall like I got with the EF Yak and deal with the cowl ring. The cowl ring on my 2 year old 50cc Extra has broken loose twice and it is the same quality that I have seen in the two other manufactures I have that are not as used.

Of course this is JMHO. [;)]

I do agree. No perfect world. Many different brands of engines to accomodate. Cowl rings make appearance better, always line up with the fuse etc. But you do need to make standoffs for the engine or cut the firewall.

And then with the cowl / screws you still have to somewhat get the cowl in a certain spot if there are stripes to match up on the fuse. So sometimes still have to make standoffs or cut the firewall.

Overall I really like the looks of the cowl ring and no screws. Just my preference of course.

The EF 300 still is an awesome looking plane. I wouldn't discount it for a purchase just because of the cowl.

Nice job Extreme Flight.

ive found that with the control rods for the elevaters the ball links need to be done up till there is no more thread showing either end and that the second hole in the control horn needs to be used in order for the rods to fit correctly which incidently lines up with the hine line perfectly....

heres a picky of the radio install so far, although a bit untidy ATM, not sure wether the C of G will be ok yet with this layout but i dont think itll be far off...

So we're talking 6 1/4 from the firewall to the front face of the hub?

Yeah as screwed up as things are you never know, we could have different inches. I hope not. [:)]
The DA is 3.75 inches and the standoff's are 2.5 so I added them and got 6.25 inches. If you are getting another 1/4 inch it must be from those big washers you are using and maybe holding the ruler a little crooked? Close enough though. [8D]
