Hey
Can I ask the experts on best electronics load out for the 88'' EF Extra ?
I currently have 4x HS5945MG for aileron and elevator set aside, and a 5955TG for rudder.
I also have a set of 4 8611 I could use on A/E, but wanted to hold those for another project if possible.
Are 5945MG enough for solid 3D control on aileron and rudder?

Absolutely. The 5945 on the Ailerons and Elevators will be fine. The 5955 is perfect for the rudder. I ran 5985's on the ailerons and elevators of my 88" Yak and never had any trouble.

IMO the best set up now is 5) 7955's if purchasing new, but If you already have the 5945's I would use them.

I agree, no problem. I had that same exact setup on two different 50cc 3D gassers. It worked great.

Well along time ago on this thread I said I was going to get one of these and despite not going that route it looks as if I might in the end, because my Aeroworks Extra is definatly done http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGOETNdHSZ8 , can you fit this plane in the back of a half ton truck with a regular box with out the gate down? I wasn't all that impressed with the flight characteristics of the aeroworks, so I may go this route.

If I can get mine into a Toyota Prius then I'm sure the pickup will work. I saw a 40% in the back of a Ford Ranger ... the pilot built an extension to make it long enough and make sure everything was secured. That worked very well for him.

Any details on the cause of your lock-out? What was the aircraft power set-up?

I was going to recommend the EF Extra when I saw your video. It's probably the best one out there. If you remove your spinner and turn your rudder that will buy you some space. It'll probably fit though. Do you need some measurements from me? Just say the word.

PS: It's a harrier monster. I'm doing them all the time on this Extra . Incredible harriers. No wing rock.

I want to get it after jake ruddys review and he still thinks its the best 50cc out there, and I would like a plane that can harrier like my funtana or at least close, because the aeroworks sure wasn't stable enough. I was going to go imac as well so I'm not sure about getting the edge 540 from ef. The power setup was a smart fly sport plus with 2 fromeco 2600 batteries, and they weren't plugged into the batter/bind port because I already knew about that. I think there's something wrong with the radio, anyways I'm sending all my receivers and the radio back to spectrum to get checked up. Whats the total length with no spinner, I'm wondering if I can go diagonally in the truck.

Just measured 84" without the spinner. This is the plane for IMAC. It really presents well in the air and flies a very precise line. Thanks for the info on the radio failure and sorry about the loss of the plane.

Mine's 86" with True Turn 4" P51 spinner. Without the spinner it looks right about what propchief said (I didn't remove the spinner). You can also turn the rudder and push the elevators down to buy yourself 2-4". I do this on my Yak and Extra . There are always little tricks that can save some space. You can remove stab's too.

If it's a full length bed it should fit no problem. Mine rides in the back of the Suburban which is 8'.

I'm still loving this plane! I've only used the Xoar 22x10. Has anyone used the 22 3DA? (I'm flying DLE 55)

17#, 10 oz. No pilot or instrument panel. Flies VERY light at this weight.

I've got to be a bit heavier than JoeAP with a cannister and pilot and dash panel installed. Don't have a number because ... well it's a long story. :-) Anyway, the plane flies very well and the performance is limited only to my abilies. Using a Zoar 23x8 laminated.

This Extra is larger than the Aeroworks so it's not really in the same size class. I would call them "over-sized" class of 50cc air frames. My EF 88" Yak is huge. Most people ask if I have an 80cc in it. When I say 50cc they stand there dumbfounded. :-)

The both 3D awesome. But if you want it for precision, the Extra carries more speed through the manuevers. I like them both.

Wow, Great job on the rebuild Marko! Not many would go that far to rebuild an ARF.

Yeah nice re-build. I would have trashed it for sure. It looks like new. Are you going to repair the cowling?

That re-build cost me (in time) two model, but i realy love to re-built and bring back the lost spirit to original model. That make me realy good filing, cant wait to fly her. The covling I am going to repair it, i think that this shouldnt be any problem. I already order the new one for just in case.

I had a little accident too a couple months ago. I pan caked it in doing a "too low" knife edge loop. It could have been so much worse had I not leveled the wings in time and kept them "almost" level. Hence the busted wing tip. The repair was a LOT of little things. It took me a week to get it back in the air. The last picture is the repaired plane.

Looks like I'll be flying this bad boy tomorrow. Looks cloudy but otherwise nice. I've been hucken the Yak for weeks so it'll be nice to take the Extra out again.
