I was trying to install a BL motor in the King, and I had to widen the hole for the pinion gear, in the process, I slipped with the dremel, and suffice to say, I had to order a new frame.

When you take the drive system apart on this, to put it in a new frame, does the frame come apart around the belt drive and stuff, or do you actually disassemble the main shaft from the belt gears, etc.

I see lots of screws in the frame, and it would appear that I could build the frame around the drive hardware, but that seems way too easy, I'll bet the new frame is CA'd together.

yYes, just remove the lower tray off the top frame. Then remove the top frame screws and the very tiny screw at the front. The sides will split, so you don't have to take the shaft ass'y apart. Maybe only loosen the top collar lug so you can properly preload the bearings in the new frame. If anything, you can file the pinion hole bigger first on the new frame before assembling it. You must have used a very coarse aggressive cutting bit with the Dremel I assume the first time when it went "Opps!".

What about the belt guides, do they come pre-assembled in the new frame?

And yeah - a big grinding conical stone.

If its just the upper frame, I would say you have to transfer the bearings over. Other thing I forgot to mention is the servos. The upper frame is not hard to change, but you have to take off the servos, mounts, gyro. and re-tiewrap the wires. To mod the frame, get a cutting bit, not a stone. They're about 4 bucks. You get them at Walmart, not just the LHS.
