Hi, I'm thinking of mounting the older YS63 in an inverted position for a warbird (Kyosho Zero). I've heard that the older engine has a reputation for warping its crankcase using certain mounts, but I'm not clear on which type (aluminum or glass-filled nylon). Can anyone recommend a good engine mount for this engine that won't cause this problem? Is nylon better or aluminum?

Also, in case I choose the 63S model, does it use the same mount?

Hyde mounts do a soft mount for YS 63, also fits 63s.
Dosent require a nose ring fitting.

Does "soft" mount simply refer to glass-filled nylon, or metal mounts with rubber grommets?

I don't know of any issues with the motor mounts warping the case....I have used the nylon glass filled mounts on the 63's and 110's although on the larger engines these mounts are a little weak.

An aluminum beam style mount will be fine also....

On the larger engines I use a Hyde soft mount. These have a rubber isolator and only work in rotational movement. Its not like mounting the engine on rubber bumpers....however there are a couple of rubber bumper mounts out there that will work..

For me personally the normal mounts that come with most kits are fine for the 63's they don't shake too much.

Central Hobbies has hyde mounts and the Dave brown rubber bumper style mounts.

Dave brown nylon style mounts work also.
