Hey guys, need some help...I have an older gas airplane. Looks like the old Tiger II w/84 inch WS. I have a new Zenoah G-26 on it and has alot of power. (Problem) the plane is too heavy. Without about 12 oz or more weight in the front behind engine fire wall the plane is tail heavy. Alot of unneeded weight to carry. I want to take about 41/2 inches of fuselage out of the rear of the airplane bringing the tail section closer to the front in a effort to offset more weight to front and take away the weights behind the firewall..Does this sound like a good idea? Thanks

Stop
Just move the engine foward. For the 4.5 " from the rear, just move the engine 1.5" forward to start.

In addition to moving the engine forward, replace the rudder pushrod with a pull-pull. If the stab is cantileverd, it would probably be easier to rebuild it lighter, and use bracing, instead of shortening the tail
