yep..

I'd say the hyper st, the plastic shock towers are fine, look at expensive models such as the xt8, it has a good amount of plastic parts, plastic is good because it flexes, not like some alloys which would just snap, and there are loads of them on my track, and no one there has broke a single one. Plus they are cheaper to replace than the alloy ones.

Thats true, the plastic ones on the ST arent just flat, they have shapes and angles to them that make them last, and they are cheeper to replace if you were to jump off a 4 story parking lot with it. Get the hyper ST, get about $50 in spare plastic parts, and when you get really good, spend another $100 or so on CNC and make it a pro kit, boom. I was afraid of the plastic parts too and went for a more metalized truggy, but I have read many reviews on the ST and nowhere have they mentioned any plastic parts breaking, only hubs, AI. On my VTX ST1 I have ordered spare plastic parts and am slowly upgrading to billet. Super tough truck, PBS, but engine and radio are questionable. The replacement engine they sent me though is pretty good.

Check out the Redcat Monsoon! I bought mine on Ebay for $279 RTR! The radio and servos are junk but the rest of the truck ROCKS! It is a Kyosho Inferno ST clone and comes with SH .28 P3 engine, ball bearing bellcrank and brake cams, offset kingpin hubs, captured hinge pins, and a killer lookin body! The other truck I would look into is the VTX ST1 that J_Blaze mentioned above! I have the VTX B1 buggy and it is built very well for the money. I have owned a ton of LOSI stuff through the years and it is well engineered but very brittle and won't tolerate bashing very well. The high priced stuff doesn't make you go any faster on the track or win any more races! In fact, I love spankin' the high dollar guys with junk I pulled out of the trash can! LOL!

$279 to their $1000 and 15% nitro to their 30% and still spank em' hhhmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VTX St-1 truggy.... Nice truck for the money...I would ditch the transmitter and receiver but the servos work pretty good... They have great customer service....If there are any problems they send you new parts...

I still say the Losi 8ight T or the Hyper ST. By the way, the Hyper St is considered to be one of the toughest truggys made. I have read a few magazines and other reviews that say it is by far the strongest truggy out there. However with the 8ight T you get a great radio.

$370 on ebay right now..
crap radio gear, I'm sure, but appears to be a good truck overall.

Who would want a mantis for one dollar MORE than the Thunder Tiger? Only a crazy person.

Look get something like this.
Much better than any RTR. it will cost you more in the short term but save you a lot lot more in the long run, plus its a race winning model, not some bmx track basher.

How does the Thunder Tiger compare to an Ofna Jammin Pro-kit?
For $100 more is it worth it to get the Jammin?
