What is the best bang for the buck in an RTR? I've been looking at the new Duratrax and both of the Losi's. I want to get a complete outfit that will be competitive and has a good radio. What do you think? If money was no object....

I say skip the Raze but it's your money. The Hyper ST, Losi, Jammin, and CEN are good.

Duratrax are just rebaged Smartech junk.

Avoid RTR full stop if you can, only cheape in the short term.

If you are going to go rtr i would suggest the cen matrix tr arena. It shares almost all the same parts as the fre kit and comes with decent radio gear. Very good value for money, durable and well built.

There are only two RTRs that really float my boat at the moment. The Thunder Tiger ST-1 cos it's just SUCH a bargain, it has a great engine. That should be the choice if budget is an issue. And the Losi 8T RTR as it has a spektrum radio and another very good engine. But it's the most expensive RTR out there.

The TTR is actually almost as costly as the Losi 8T, only place i've seen it for sale is on Tower and it's run around 720.00 and i've seen the 8T for 749.00 on ebay and some other sites.

No doubt the Losi 8T or the Hyper ST is the way to go. I can give you a number where you can get the Losi for $610. I was going to get the Hyper but the pull start kept me from buying it. I bought the Losi 8T and it is an awesome truggy with a great radio.

I would say the CEN Matrix TR Arena RTR. For only $420 on amain and the $25 off code, it's really a great buy. I think second to best RTR you can buy, other than the 8t. But it costs $650+.
The Matrix TR is built very well from the factory and is extremely beefy and durable.
It is also very fast on the track, too.

Exactly what i was going to say. Matrix TR is simply the best RTR truggy in the market, period. Especially for the price piont, you just cant beat that.

Matrix TR is also more user friendly especially to none-pro drivers. Losi is mainly for pro drivers and its harder to adapt.

If money was no object, buy a kit, good radio, good motor (i.e. build your own RTR), otherwise I think TTR or CEN is the way to go
