Ok this is a little off topic from this thread but I just HAD to share this little video from Andrea who is friends and retailer for Intelligent Flight. This is a good demonstration of a pro FPVer!!!

Just a quick question about the osd chip. Does it compress the video feed at all or is it the compression of putting on the net that results in not the greatest quality videos that I've seen on this thread. It's probably the coolest thing I have seen on this site so far and would be interested in the product later.

Thanks in advance.

Ivan.

No no the video quality has nothing in relation to the OSD. It's the host that allow everyone to upload our videos onto their site that restrict high video quality because of the giant file size. Secondly on the last video link I provided by my buddy at RC-TECH, Andre uses his Dell Laptop and a Pinnacle video capture box to record his videos. Not always the best method of fine recording but very convent because the video is already for editing. Perhaps he should of used his Canon HD camcorder to show off how crisp and sharp the video really is! I know when I fly by video goggle, the video/scenery is breath taking!!!!

Actually no. In the slow and low vid, that is Andre Bernette of www.rc-tech.ch . He sells the Head Tracker called GYRO CONTROL. Mark Harris of Perth, Australia sell the OSD/GPS & now the hottest CCD/FPV camera which he distributes to RC-TECH.

I'm looking at the website, which is the better osd chip to get? the blue one or the dragon? And how about the fly back to home feature, anyone put this to the test?

Ivan.

Both OSD has their good and bad points. The IFOSD (blue one) is more compact and the HEX files can not be rewritten by users. In case they wish to further improve on the OSD. Dragon cost a little more is a little bit bigger but has lots of features. So it's just which one suits the users and their plane. The home return features is proven and Dragon does provide a video when autopilot is kicked in and operating. They sold many of these OSD but yeah .. no one has posted the videos of home return yet, except for Daniel with his Dragon.

Hey guys,
This looks great! Have you given any thought to some attitude sensors and maybe generating an artificial horizon? This would really help in remote landings and night flight.

We've actually spent the last week working on kalman code for the basic IMU to generate an artificial horizon and stabilise the plane
