Tower was actually showing the RDS8000 as "In Stock" for a brief period late last week. They''re simply selling through them faster than they can restock them. Tower Hobbies has been a popular source for the radio because their discount codes match well with the pricing of the RDS8000. I believe that with production now in full swing, Sanwa and Global Hobby will be doing their best to keep everyone topped up with all of the RDS8000 inventory that they want. Tower Hobbies would rather be selling 7C FASST radio systems, but with Futaba''s recent issues regarding 6 and 7 channel FASST products, the Airtronics system gives them a high-demand product to sell rather than losing even more 2.4Ghz market share to Horizon Hobby. If Tower Hobbies doesn''t have RDS8000 systems in stock, it''s probably because Tower Hobbies doesn''t want to order any more than they have to in order to keep up with pre-sold demand. The folks who own Tower Hobbies are probably hoping to get the Futaba FAAST lineup straightened out so Tower can sell more of those to compete with Horizon''s 2.4Ghz offerings rather than relying on Airtronics to fill the void. The bottom line? If you order an RDS8000 radio system from Tower Hobbies, they''ll get it out to you sooner rather than later. RDS8000 radios aren''t made in the same GMS factory as all of the Super Tigre and Tower Hobbies engines that Tower is out of.
