Status: offline 		As I was working on my review of this radio I was told that Airtronics made the choice to not include battery and servos with the radio. The reasoning was because in this day and age of such varied types of flying styles and different planes most people don't use the battery and servos that come with a radio anyway. So Airtronics choose to leave them out so they could bring the total price down a bit.

Status: offline 		No sweat guys ( as far as I'm concerned) the no RX batt Observation like that of the no servos with the RDS8000 was just that, an Observation.

No complaints here, the goodness of this Radio speaks for itself. Cheers to Airtronics!!! Now I'm gonna hafta get a Plank to add to the heli fleet

Status: offline 		yup...just got my RDS and it is really sweet swapped out the RX, bound it to the Tx, programmed te model back in and that was that!! sooooo nice, and really easy to hold.

Can't wait to see the new 10 channel once it is available!!

Status: offline 		I just bought my first Airtronics Radio. The radio needs a RX battery and I need some suggestions. Just some Sunday flying nothing extreme. I'm just getting started again after a 10 year vacation from airplanes. I want to get my park flier going and was also wondering how well the BEC works with this type of radio. My nitro plane is a Balsa USA stick 40. I'm going back to the basics on the airplanes but high tech on the radio.

I'm thnking about switching over to the Airtronics RDS8000 2.4 GHz FHSS Radio Tx & Rx.
Will my existing Futaba and Hitec servos I have in all of my planes work with this system?

Absolutely. All brands of servos will work with the RDS 8000. On your Futaba servos you may have to shave off the tab on the servo plug, but that's easy to do and only takes a couple of seconds to do. Other than than, you won't have any issues with it at all

Yes, I have a RDS 8000. I did a review of this radio for RCU. The review hasn't posted yet though. My two biggest issues with this radio were the 3 digit display for naming the planes and I wish the transmitter battery were bigger. But other than that I have no issues at all with this radio. I simply love it. Right now I only have one reciever for it and that's in my Kaos 60. I flew on Saturday and got in 7 flights with this plane/radio, and it felt like the radio was designed just for me. I love it!!!!!

Status: offline 		Hi rcflyer1960, On the Futaba plugs, after you cut off the tab also shave the two back corners on a 45. Then it will fit perfectly into the receiver. I just put my new RDS8000 into by P51 which has all Futaba servos. Everything works just fine. I hope to fly it today.

Status: offline 		i have read this thread a couple of times and hope this is a new question.. using the RDS8000.. if i turn on plane A and have the TX set to plane B, will any surfaces on the plane move? there is a term for this, it just escapes me at the moment. my current radio has a 10 model memory and i have been known to leave the radio set up on a different plane than the one i was attempting to fly. since the RX is learned to the TX i was hoping this would no longer be a problem. the module systems for other radios still have this problem according to other threads.

You are looking for the Spektrum/JR "Model Match" feature. No, this radio doesn't have this patent pending feature. You will still have to actually THINK about what you are doing. Not all that hard to do and just takes a moment.
