MG,

I know this is getting the cart WAAAAAAY before the horse. However, will the present 8-channel receivers be compatible with the future 10-channel transmitter?

And/or will the 10-Ch RX work with the 8-CH TX? (within the limits of still being only 8 channels)

The 8 channel rx will be compatible with the 10tx. That is of course the plan. Why? Because it makes sense! Of course! We are also working on a micro 6 channel receiver that will be compatible with the 8 channel RDS8000 and the new 10ch will also be compatible with this micro receiver.

I have pushed for this compatibility since the beginning of discussion of this radio. Their engineers completely understand the need for this compatibility.

Mike

I do not have dates for the Micro 6 channel yet. Note that the 8 channel, in its class, is quite competitively priced.

Anyone have a problem with the throttle cut function? Mine only works with the throttle stick in the high position. It doesn't matter if the servo is reversed or not and the trim only works in the high position also. The manual states that the throttle cut function only works in the low position but the only way mine will move is if the stick is at the top.

kwhite.6:

I've been thinking about your problem a little bit more, do you mean at full throttle it will actual kill the engine???? If so, thats pretty strange.

Question about the receiver battery pack. This would be my first TX purchase (besides the cheapo RTF tx's). I didn't know the receivers required a battery. Do they? If so, I see the RDS8000 and the 8CH 2.4GHz FHSS Receiver listed many places, but neither the Airtronics website nor the other specify what battery is needed for the receiver. What battery is needed?

Also, does Airtronics make accessories for their products...like radio cases, neck straps, etc?

Getting a little frustrated with the user-friendliness, lack of cross-referencing, and product details of the products on the airtronics website... Much to be desired.

If you fly electric, you can use a speed controller with a "BEC" (battery eliminator circuit), then you won't need a battery.

If you intend to fly glo, then you will a need receiver battery. Airtronics sells the battery you need, but its better to get an after market battery from your LHS. About 700 ma nicad is usual, for about up to .60 size. It all depends on how much current your system requires, and how long you intend to fly at each time out before charging.

Hello everyone, I have just completed a Stans Fiber Tech 35% Cap 232. I have installed one Airtronics 8 channel 2.4ghz receiver. In regards to range checking, the manual states 30 paces in range check mode. My system range checks within the manuals specified 30 paces no issues, however, any distance greater than 30 paces yields intermittent signal loss. Motor running or not anything over 30 paces the system does not respond in range check mode. Is this bird safe to fly? Thank you, Peter

I've been unable to get the trainer system to work between my RDS8000 & my VG400. I'm using the 8000 as the master and the 400 as the trainer. After hooking up the cable and turning on the power switch for the 8000, which powers up both the 8000 & the 400, the battery power lights on the 400 illuminate, with the low light (red) remaining steady while the mid & the high lights (four green lights) constantly flash two at a time. By pressing the trainer switch on the 8000, it disables the the controls on the 8000, however it does not enable the controls on the 400. All of the servos on each TX are set to normal. I've tried it with both the crystal in and out of the 400 and no difference. Does anybody know if there is a "newer" cord that needs to be used with the 8000. Has anybody had success or similar results using these two TX's. Thanks in advance.
