i just set up my spa3d with flaperons.. the flaps were preset.. i kept wondering why the ailerons were at strange places. then in remembered the above posts.. i had to change the flap values to 0% and all is well. i couldn't figure out how to deactivate the switch without setting the values to 0. but it worked.

RCKen,

Very comprehensive review. It looks as if it must have been a good deal of work to prepare. Thanks! This looks like a very nice radio and it will provide my entry to 2.4.

All,

Does anyone out there miss three-position switches for channels five and up?? I may have mis read the review but it seems as if the assignable, and pre-assigned, toggle switches are all two-position.

This is probably a very minor concern and will probably be addressed with the 10-channel TX. This radio, as presently configured, seems to be a gift to the R/C community. Thank you, Airtronics!

The flap switch is 3 position, the others are all 2.

I was wondering if there might be any updates regarding the 6-channel parkflyer receiver yet?

For several years I've been primarily using Airtronics radios beginning with the Module, a couple of Spectrums, Radiant, RD6000, RD6000S and RDSS8000 . I've been very happy with all of them except the Radiant. With it I had functionality issues. I never had a failure with any of them except the new RDSS8000. It seems it just quit transmitting after about 30 flights. Tried rebinding and different receivers, no help. A different transmitter worked fine with the receivers. I was just about to fly a pylon racer on our practice course when it quit. We do a last second pre-launch check that caught it. Took the system back to Hobby People and they gave me a new one. It works great and guides my pylon racers.

A couple of things I should note that are not biggies in my mind. Like some racers I like my sticks springs very tight when fly pylon racers. The new radios use a metal plate to hold the gimbal locators (maybe not what you call them) in place. The old radios use plastic. When the aileron spring is tightened to near max the spring rubs on the plate. This gives you a clickity click click when you move the aileron stick. The locator it self has a relief cut out for this but the plate does not. I fixed it by filing a relief in the plate.

My second transmitter doesn't chime when I activate the rudder trim. All other trims chime just fine. again no biggy.

Denis

Stylus Module is in final design stages. We'll test it late this summer. It is our goal to have it out by the end of the year.

Mike,

I have a RDS8000. I am confused about the what the resolution is? I have been using a old futaba 9 channel PCM 1024. Some of the higher end ($) futaba radios advertise a real time response (faster) of 2048 resolution. Where does the RDS 8000 fit in to this. I guess I am confused about what the difference is between 2.4 and resolution or are they one in the same?

Here are some pics of the RDS8000 in action on my Cermark F-16 with a JETT 90L.

Thanks

Rich
