Status: offline 		has anyone had a problem with losing info or other problems if transmitter switch is left on and battery goes completely dead?

Status: offline 		I got my first flight with my RDS8000 yesterday. It was so uneventful. I did have an issue with the Tx though. The two flights I got in, I tried to extend the antenna both times. It is going to take a little time to get used to the short antenna. I kept looking down to see if the antenna was extended. Other then ME having trouble, the RDS8000 was flawless. I just need to get 9 more Rx's for this Tx.


I have pulled the battery out to charge on my Tritton II charger and have not lost any data. Not sure if that is the same as having it run down the voltage on the battery.

Could you please PM your contact info, my radio went dead today. It went into the no transmit a signal deal on power up. It worked fine on the 1st flight of the day then stopped transmitting signal on the next power up cycle. Mine is one of four Rd8000's at our field and 3 of them have had this issue so far. The 2 others I know you have been informed about via this chat board (member: djlyon). Please get back to me as soon as you can as I have switched everything over to this 2.4 radio and can not fly until this is resolved. If you look back near the start of this tread you will remember that I was one of the 1st people to get this radio (post pictures) and make the switch - we also talked at the AMA show.

The question actually came from me - I tried tightening the screws that adjust the spring tension, and I started getting a 'clicking' noise when I moved the sticks so had to lighten up on the tension a bit. I've been flying Futaba and JR until this radio, and all the radios I've used have much tighter spring tension. I'd love to replace the spring or do something to increase the tension further.

"TRANSMITTER STICK TENSION ADJUSTMENT

-remove the back of the transmitter case. First remove the ANTENNA and NiCd battery-."

The Antenna does not need to be removed and should not be removed. This instructions pertains to the RD8000 72MHz antenna.

Status: online 		Liking the radio so far. Looking to get the spikes for the thumb grips, and make a relief in the spring tension plate - I think I'll be really happy with better grip and stiffer springs.

I think an important improvement on your new 10 channel radio would be an option to "disable the TRANER SWITCH" on the transmitter. I just crashed an airplane because while retracting the gear I accidently brushed the TRAINER switch, so I for one would like to have the option to disable that switch. I don't know if other radios have this option or not, since I have been using only Airtronics for the past 25 or so years.

Status: offline 		Just had my first really good day wioth the new RDS..I love it!! Better than any radio I have had over the years Ihave been in the hobby. It was flawless, just wish I coudl say the same of the pilot :*) greased my first landing on a new plane, then opened up for another go round and opps...ran ouf or electric so stalled and pulled the undercarriage off...ahw well..the model timer will help next time with that

Looking forwward to seeing what changes the 10 channel will bring as there are a number of things I would love to have included

Yes, some other brands/models do require/allow the "Trainer Mode" to be enabled/disabled or allow you to assign functions to switches so you can choose which switch does what. This may become a feature on the 10 channel. I'm sure they were concentrating on keeping costs down on this initial offering.
