ORIGINAL: eajohnson I'd emailed airtronics last year about service for Canadian users (just had a Stylus that hadn't been checked in a while so was 'due') and didn't receive any response after several attempts. This, and Airtronics failure to move quickly to 2.4, prompted me to switch over fully to JR (I had previously flown JR and Airtronics); I've sold my Stylus. The Stylus is still my all time favorite tx, I'd consider getting Airtronics again (whatever the successor to the Stylus is) but only if there's some backing on the support and service side. It seems the North American presence is shaky to say the least! I had flown Airtronics radios for many years, had no problem with their service. You might have had better luck if you'd tried the Airtronics users group on Yahoo. Perhaps things declined in recent years, after I went to Hitec flite packs and finally to the Eclipse 7 w/Spectra module. Recently Hobby People became the US distributor for Airt; seems HP got Sanwa off their butts in the R&D dept. HP claims that Sanwa is reinvigorated under younger management now. I've heard that there may be a new Stylus in the works. We can hope. In the meantime the RDS8000 seems to me to be the way to go with FHSS systems. I like the frequency hopping and the dual antennea approach in a single receiver package. I also like the full-fledged RDS8000 transmitter. Much more capability than the Futaba 6EX FASST, which I think was a rush to market on Futaba's part. CR
