I see that this radio has DUAL ELEVATOR MIXING. And I am very interested in it. Can any body tell me if I can trim it in flight with the trim switch (elevator digital trim) on the radio? Will it control both channels 1&7 or just channel 1?
Thank you

Yes, you can trim in flight. Scroll down to the D-EL window and select ACT (activate)on the transmitter. This will deactivate AUX 1 switch and enable Channels 1&7 for dual elevators. Then you'll have end point adjustment, servo reversing, centering for channels 1&7. A really nice feature and makes dual elevator set-up a snap. A big reason why I love this radio.

OH yes, the digital trim button on transmitter for elevator will trim both channels as if they were one.

Hello Bruce, I personally spoke to Phil at Hobby People (yesterday and today) he stated they are the premier Rep. for this distribution, no one to this date has received a radio from HP preorders or otherwise.......Their projected date is Feb 15, I hope the information is wrong! Can someone here verify these facts? Hello, Mike G.......................... North

I have a friend that has one. I've seen pictures of him holding it in his home. I'll see if he will post here.

Ok, first let me preface this post by saying that I am reviewing this radio for RCU. I didn't get any special pre-release, or my cousin Luigi didn't get it for me either! Mike G. contacted me last week saying that the review radio was ready to be shipped to me. I recieved it on Tuesday. As you can see by the picture, the radio is indeed in my hot little hands!!! I've looked at the radio and skimmed through the manual on it, but I really haven't had much chance to dig in too deeply yet. Hoping to do that this weekend.

The radios have been received officially into our warehouse stock and will be released to dealer backorders tomorrow. And yes, a FEW of the first production were used for promotion (like the raffle at the Arizona electric festival) which is where the two you've seen on RCU here come from. The GREAT NEWS is customers will now get the radios!

Thanks for a great thread here. I'm looking forward to hearing about the user's comments on the radio!

Same here... I hope this thread will be kept open for the RDS8000 discussions. I'd be particularly interested as to how this radio will serve both Airplane and Heli models in terms of the hardware and programming. My current one is of different brand but looking at moving to another brand. Also, would be nice to know if there are plans for Airtronics to introduce 6-ch Rx ... lighter in both weight and wallet .

Thanks,
^R^

Ida no, even the title of the thread is a misnomer. May be better to use the RDS8000 FAQ thread.

Mike, will backorders at Hobby People be filled concurrently or do we have to wait for the HS orders to be filled?

Thanks,

CR
