I've had my Savage X 4.1 rtr for about 2 months now and I would like to start stocking up on spare parts in case I'm out bashing and break something. Fortunately I have not broke anything yet, but I have stripped a few spur gears.

What parts would you reccomend to have on hand??
Bearings? A arms? Shocks?

What is your most common break?

so far, i have many a-arms, hinge pins, brake parts, extra differentials.
just today, i ran my savage at around 40mph, it slides sideways and hit a pole, spins about 20 times.

my jammin exhaust broke, and upper and A arms broke also. that's about it .

other than that, i suggest buy as you need them. that way you know what to buy in the future.

i have replaced a lot of parts due to my bashing nature

Here is an order I just put in with Tower:

HPI Differential Case Washer 0.7mm Hellfire (6) 1
HPI Bevel Gear 13 Tooth Savage 21 2
HPI Bevel Gear 43 Tooth Savage 21 2
HPI Bearing 8x16x5mm Savage 21 (2) 2
HPI Washer 13x16x0.2mm Hellfire (10) 2
HPI Bearing 10x16x5mm Savage 21 (2) 2
HPI Teflon Clutch Shoe/Spring Set Savage 25 RTR 1
HPI Heavyweight Grease Gear Diff 1
HPI 4 Bevel Gear Diff Conversion Set Savage

I just blew my front 13 and 43 tooth bevel gears so one of each will be used for the rebuild. I am also going to shim front and rear diffs (to help prevent further blown bevel gears) so I will use some of the shims also. The rest are for spare parts. I already have a spare spur gear. I also ordered a screw kit from another site cause Tower only has stainless. I also have some spare E clips, body pins, etc. on hand. The bearing sets I got are for the 13 tooth bevel and axle bearings.

I would go on ebay and buy an extra set of shocks. I seem to go through them frequently and you can get a kit from an ss box for around $20. Those and body mount posts - go through them like hotcakes.

shock shafts,dog bones,fuel tanks

tips:zip tie bumper braces together to keep upper arm pins from rattling out and put foam tape on the chassis behind the fuel tank,so it is less likly to break

I'd have at least a pair of assembled shocks, one pre-assembled diff, and 2 spurs with some extra screws in there too. I don't know how hard you bash, but the more parts the better.

Yeah, those are pretty thick and work well.

I have two Savages. When one brakes, fire up the second.

The Integy tank guard could be the only useful thing Integy makes

Wheel nuts, front arms, body mounts, loctite stick, zip ties, e clips, spur gears, body pins...

Anything as far as differential and trans gears, etc... I think is more of a OH CRAP kind of thing, and wouldn't want to rush a fix with a drop in part out in the dirt.
Rather go home, order the part (or pickup @ LHS on way home) and do it right.

i also would have to add would to get some spur gears especially if youy bash in hard areas. i recently did some gravel bashing and a rock came into my cb and spur and actually got stuck in one of the teeth of the spur i lost the spur and my cb got a scratch or 2 so i just through another one on and i was rolling again
