I 'm returning to pattern after a 4 yr absence. What I'm seeing in planes available for 10cc engines is "zero" or if they are marked for 10cc 2S, fliers are recommending larger displacements (2S or 4S) engines.

To jump start my return I'm looking at some ARF's. Tia ji 60, Zen 90. And I'm also thinking about owning my first 4S, a YS91.

My concerns are environmental: We have high humidity, high salt content in the air, and lastly high heat...rubber bans turn to mush within a matter of months. The YS 91 has lots of seals, diaphram, etc. that will be subect to this. Should I look elsewhere?

Lastly if I go this route, is there a readily available after-run oil that someone can recommend?

Regards,

wgray

To my knowledge Silicone is not affected by salt water conditions...How does your fuel line hold up.....?

This is what the Diaphragm and plunger material are in the YS 91....

The YS 91 is the most power 91 4 stroke produced.....It really worked well in the larger 60 sized models that the 61's just struggled with...In fact the 91 has almost as much power as the original 120's...

The YS engines are superb machines. Just like all high performance machines they need some experience on the operators part to sort out problems when and if there are problems....But you will not find a better performing motor than a YS....Most everybody I know that has trouble is because of operator error...or something is not right out of the box...Now YS performance gives great warranty service if you have an issue and they will get you up and going...Like all high performance machines a minor leak or flaw is magnified into a poor performance issue....but when the motor gets setup properly you will not find a better performing motor.

Don't read this as tough or difficult to operate....they are not...read it only as they are different than any other motor available and this is why they have such a unique and top level of performance...
Now let me qualify my statements above. I am a YS field rep but I choose to run the motors that give me the best performance and the best opportunity to win!!!! This is why I choose YS. The service and product are unsurpassed in the engine world.

Tnewman : Thank you for your advice. Your observation that the Diaphram is made of silicone gives me reassurance... silicone holds up well done here... it neoprene and the like that dissolves.

When will there be stateside supply of the YS 110?
