Nice drdoom. May I suggest you loose that single conversion receiver? I would hate to see you loose your airplane or hurt someone due to a receiver.

What is the best bettery for the F-16, that will still fit inside without much modification. I tried a Thunderpower 800mah, which flew it lathargicly, a 1320 thunderpower which was better, and a Hobbycity 1500 which was awesome, but I had to modify the canopy to the point where it popped off in flight and lost it. I got a new canopy and I don't want to butcher it like I did the first one. Any recommendations?

The best battery that I have found is a Flight Power EVO Lite 1345 or 1320. It is perfect weight, and has good flight time.

Any information on controller programming? Mine acts like it has brake or hard stop enabled.

Lutz's has the best prices and selection in town, of course it's the only Hobby Shop in town.

LOL that always helps

I just recently did a 4 cell mod on the F-16 using the stock motor and fan unit. I swaped out the ESC for a Team Orion Captain 35, then I used a pair of two cell Flight power 1345s. I added 1/4 ounce of led to the tail to help balance the plane.

Let me know how it flies. I would have thought the stock motor would burn out.

Adding the 4th cell makes this airplane that much more fun. I actually thought the fan blade would have exploded, but after 10 flights, the fan is holding together. If you do this mod, make sure you balance the blade first.

I just test-flown mine last week. Unfortunately it crashed as the motor cut 2 seconds after take-off because the battery voltage dropped below 9V. I had tested it with a 1300 flightpower, but then decided to use a 800 for balance reasons and as I found out later it can't take the 18A full-power current.
Cracked the lower fuselage, but unharmed otherwise. I glassed the lower fuselage now, hope that will help landing on it as well.
Did anyone manage to get the lower part off without destroying it for motor/ESC/DF maintenance? Any tips on the best way to handle that would be welcome.

Using a new Xacto blade, following the out line in the back of the manual. When Cutting, cut at an angle, around 30~45 degree. Doing this will help keep the blade straight, and will provide support for the foam when you reattach the access cover you have created.

The best battery I have found for the F-16 is the FlightPower 1345 EVO LITE. You may want to give that battery a try. It has the best C Rating / MAH / weight combo.

I'm using the EVO25 at 1500mah 11.1v and it fits in snugly. For noobies to this plane, be very careful this plane runs out of elevator on steep pullups. Also the recommended throws are pretty conservative IMO, the roll rate is nothing to write home about. If you bung up the fuse to the point you cannot glue everything back together Kyosho wants $99 for a replacement

Does anyone know what brushless motor will fit the F16, mine measures 20mm x 40mm, but I got no idea about the RPM.

the stock motor is a 44OO KV motor.

Hobby Lobby sells a 4700kv motor, I am not sure of anyone else at this point that makes a higher or lower KV motor in a 20mm can.

I have a DX7 radio system which uses JR ProPo software. The JR software allows you to program 150% throw. What I have done for ailerons on the F-16, is program the dual rate switch for 50% and 150%. Then adjust your linkage on the airplane for full throw. You will get much better performance out of the airplane this way.

Your comment about running out of elevator, can you elaborate? I have not experienced "running out of elevator" with this airplane.

Thanks for the info on the motor. With the factory supplied throws the elevator control is insufficient IMO. I bunged mine up on the second flight when I attempted a loop. It did pull out..kinda, but it smacked the ground breaking the bottom pan which was easily glued back together. My ESC has gone south after about six flights and Kyosho wanted me to send it in so they could check it out. The next thing to go was the motor, now I'm looking for a replacement. Tis plane is a hoot and it really scoots, but go gingerly with it until you get the feel or you will be glueing it back together. I'm flying mine with an old Futaba 7UAF Super and using dual rates and exponential.

I have a feeling that if you are running out of elevator that you may want to check your balance. the airplane may be too nose heavy.

hobbylobby sells a 4700kv motor that will work.
