Hmmmm,

I beg to differ about pattern aircraft being single purpose. Watch the video below and form your own opinion.

YouTube_vid

They are single purpose airplanes and the fact that the video shows a "pattern" plane doing torque rolls doesn't change that. If you look closely the ailerons on the airplane on the video are bigger than the typical 2x2 pattern plane. All I'm saying is that pattern planes are built for the single purpose of flying a specific set of manouvers and in fact their designs change as those manouvers change. Imac type airplanes are and will be better at 3D and this is why they are used at events such as the 3D masters and the XFC.

It's okay if they are different, it gives us more options.

That's exactly how I feel about pattern ships..... great for some..... but blender fodder for me...... There is such a thing as TOO refined...... of course I don't use any type of mixxing either..... Next thing you know they will be putting stablility / heading hold gizmo's and gyro's in planes too.......... LOL.... oh, that 's right they already are..... hmmm.... better just go to free flight.... and loose the radio all together.

Yeah, exactly. That's why I remove the shocks and loosen up the tie rod ends on every car I own.
