I'm having a fun following you too, since i've been too crazy busy to even think about working on mine, i like to follow your progress. and I apreciate you getting on your soap-box about the TF scale outlines and wing incedence, etc... because now I know how do the next one better, and better, and better.....

Hi shupack! Nice to see you around again. So you like me talking about these kits and plans? I am causing a little bit of a stink some times, but I'm just getting so sick of the current designs!!!! I want change!!!! haha

I'm almost done glassing, I'll be ready for chart tape this weekend hopefully! That is when I start having fun again, glassing is just boring work to me, again thanks everyone for making me continue. It can be easy at times to just set it down and do something else for a month!

Here is a picture, this one really shows the shape of the fuselage, it looks really scale in shape and outline.

Hey Luke...

NICE!

No worries for the push mate, You know i cant start my big 'hose nose' till i relocate to the other side of the world, so im all over yours instead :d

Not to mention i am going to find a way to keep all the details of your work to refer to when i do finally get mine under way.

My Kyosho F4U is ready to roll, as is my buddies, weather dependent for this weekend, but not looking good. will have pix and maybe video of the dual maidens...

Nothing like scale i know, but it was bought and finished to keep my thumbs in check.

Keep going!!! Its looking great, and like most in here, we are really looking forward to the next bit, and the next bit all the way thru to the flying video. *nudge*

Righto!

Goose.

Hi V6goose, Don't worry, I want this thing done NOW! I'm really looking forward to the final finish and weathering, she is going to look like she flew right in from hostilities in the Pacific....I hope!

Here are some pictures of the fuselage in the spot putty state. You can see the outline very well now, is it scale? What would need to be changed if it's wrong?

Awesome Luke!

I know you want to finish her now, hence the push you seem to enjoy.
Q: for you. Do you (or anyone) have, or know of any info regarding the Corsairs work in the Islands? I want to read up and gather info on all i can. I dont know much about where and when they fought, battle info etc... Can you help?

Cool, later

Goose

V6goose,

I'll give you some info on some great stories when I get a chance.

I am doing my best to dodge the Ziroli army, I'm under full assault! They never really say anything except that I need to say everything differently and that I need to shut up! I feel like I'm a writer for Pravda!

Anyway, I have been working on the cockpit area. I used some of the original Royal cockpit kit and the Top Flite, I fused them together! I have some secret techniques for painting that I am considering showing on my site. In this picture you can see where the two are joined together:

This is how it looks painted. It still needs some details like the stick, throttle and mixture controls:

I like to exaggerate age and depth with extra shadows. It always looks better on smaller models... in my opinion!

*laughing* Yeah i know what you mean! I have been watching the interesting threads regarding scale and the like...

Most respect everyones opinion, BUT!...

The cockpit looks great! Love the detail. Is it just my screen, or is that green a little on the bright side? Either way, i am loving this project, maybe nearly as much as you! *laugh*

Keep it going buddy....

Goose

Luke, you mean to tell me that Ziroli may have fudged the outline a bit? C'mon! Ziroli?!!! His Corsair was designed way back in what, the late 70's? Most giant scale fighter type warbirds back then were dead nuts scale! (all half dozen of 'em) Just take a look at the Nosen stuff! :P Ah well, your bird looks really nice. I hope the Taylor project can live up to your expectations.

Hi Goose,

It is the flash from my camera, the paint is Model Masters Green Zink Chromate. It really is kind of dull looking but that flash really made it look bright!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, guys I am sorry to say that this is my last post in this thread or on RCU. It was fun while it lasted, but there is not enough room here for me! I prefer open discussions and lots of ideas and opinions, it turned out to be just the opposite. I have also closed my site down, I'll just finish my current project with the help of a couple of local friends.

Thanks to everyone that gave me support, you guys are awesome! Good luck on all of your projects and future projects, I hope some of my ideas helped a project or two!

Life is good!

Luke
