The "Solid, Jackson" Nose Art looks like the "Church Lady" from Saturday Night live. Say, how many daughters did O'Riley have anyway? I'll try to post some photos of my Z-B25J next week. I'm cramped for time this week. You can see my 1/12th scratch built B-25J in my gallery here on RCU. BTW, silicone must have been used in the 40's...check out that Pistol Packin' Cowgirl...WOW!

Here a few very nice 1/48 scale models at hyperscale.
This is a great place for research, most all your plastic builders do alot of homework before there build!!

Willey, I too am wondering about what engines to use in the Ziroli 101" B25. Ziroli recommended the G23 going way back. I would think the new G26 would be great as I have heard the G26 is a much better performer than the G23. I like the idea of the simple mag set up on the basic G26. Also wonder what props to use on the G26? Anyone out there have any thoughts? DWR.

I used G26s on my Ziroli 101" with 18x6 Zingers. The power was incredible as can be seen in my horrific takeoff!

Mike,

Does Zinger make a 3-blade prop? Will the G-26 turn a big enough 3-bade prop to fly the Ziroli B-25?

Mikepo, could you tell us what rpms you get with the 18/6 Zinger and are you using the stock muffler? I got a new G26 today and put it on a stand and saw 6700 with the Zinger 18/6 and stock muffler. Wonder if I would get more thrust with a 16/8 and more rpms? Anyone compared these two props?

It's official, I'm certifiable. Ordered the Ziroli 101"B25 stuff today. Put the G26 on an 84" spacewalker for test flights and like the engine. Starts easy and runs pretty strong. Seems to like a a 16/8 better than a 18/6. Took a tank full before it smoothed out. think the G26's will work well on the B25. Anybody else going to start a Ziroli project? It would be great to keep this thread going with some builds. Willey have you started building yet? DWR.

Hi Guys,

here´s a little video from a german airshow: an inflight video with the B25!

http://www.wolf-hirth.de/Deutsch/Oldtimer/2005/media/news/b25.wmv

I´ve been at the show and the B25 was one of the highlights.

Go fast, turn left

Peter

We tried various 3 bladed props While we determined that they would fly the B25, the performance of 2 bladed props was far superior. We gave up good looks for greater performance!

We used stock mufflers. I don't remember the exact RPMs, but we got at least 7500 to 8000 on Zinger 18X6.

Mikepo, I agree about the performance. That's what counts. I have a bolly 16/8 and 17/8 on the way. Will also test a Bolly CF 3 blade 16/8 that a freind has. I am impressed with the wood 2 blade Bolly. Put one on the G62 in my P47 and it made a big difference.

Also have a possible color scheme for the 25 from the 345th BG.
