Nice McQueen rider.

How are you hanging those RCs on the pegboard? Nice idea.

earlier in this thread I saw someone do this.  Just a box of assorted peg board hanger from the hardware store.

Wow, this was a long time ago!
The tires are from a german manufacturer distributed by Tamiya here in Germany. They are Carson 'All Terrain' tires
I mounted them on the Bear Hawk rear wheels and some aftermarket front wheels (2.2"), as the Bear Hawk fronts are too small (2.0")

Don't know if they are distributed in the U.S.?

opps this  post , I realy want these tires and wheels , where can I get them?

Hey , currently turning one of my kits into a Bear Hawk.  Any advice one what shocks(Dampers) I should go with?
Looking at the DF-03 as a possible doner . The after market and TRF look real nice but  the fit is a unknown to me. Who is using what?

Well near completion is my next project I've chatted about, while I'm missing silly stuff like a pinion and tie rod ends she is almost ready to go.

Really like the way the wheels look and fit on this one.  I've got parts and a spot for one more falcon chassis build and the next one will be full on modified for best preformance I can squeez out of it.

Here's the complete Family ,
Falcon , BearHawk (scratch built) , Staduim Blitzer , Bliter Beetle and Staduim Thunder.  On the wall is the Futuba FTX hiding under DynaBlaster body.

Nice collection! I had a Falcon back in the day - it was pretty trashed.

So ever since my Stadium Thunder wore out the rear tires (glued to the stock neon yellow rims), I replaced all 4 with HPI SS rims and Gladiators all around. Black ones. They get the job done, but because the front rims have an axle hole that is too big, you have to use 2 adapters on each rim for the bearings/axle to fit. It means fitment isn't perfect, but ok I guess. Still bothers me.

On the rears, the locknut has issues - you have to crank on it to get it down enough, but I've ruined a few rear bearings that way. If I don't tighten enough, I lose the rear wheel (lost 3 locknuts this way).

I'd like to go back to stock-fitting wheels, but:
1) The neon yellow ones are impossible to find. I've found a set, but at $40+. That's ridiculous.
2) I tried buying the Stadium Blitzer white ones and dying them black, but I screwed them up and warped the wheels. Don't want do mess with that again.

Anyone have solid fitting suggestions for black wheels? The HPI ones were suggested before, and they work "eeeh, ok", but I'd rather get a nicer fit (no adapters for front, better fit in the rear). It's not as easy as just picking any 2.2 wheel of the right width, since axle size, offset, etc could screw things up.

Ideas?

Update for the blitzer fans out there. Just upgraded the stock rear shocks on my parking lot racer and they fit great!

The stock rear shocks have been replaced with Integy MSR9 piggy back shocks for Traxxas Stampede.

I've taken it further if anyone is still running there Blitzers.  It's just a battery hold done I did with parts I found at Home Depot.

The stuff I'll be using,

here i just banged out some holes .

WP_000909

Used some nylon posts I found in the hardware area.

Cut some Velcro , punched holes in  it , and also used faucet washers to cushion and take up the slack in the mounting posts.

Trimmed the Velcro a little more and I have an INSANELY fast Blitzer! Backward summersaults at 40MPH are common if your not light on the throttle.

3s Lipo with Velineon brushless system (VXL-3) makes it scary, training mode makes it useable. With monster run times.

To soak up the bumps I just added these 75MM shocks from GMP meant for the DF02 chassi. Work and fit great but stiffer than I would like . Will start my seach for a lesser spring rate.

I also swapped tires from another kit and made my own new tierods (not shown) from threaded rod I got from home depot.

She bashes with the best now.

Lo folks, still running my blitzer but with 3 cell lipo its abit unusable.  Trainer mode I get some good runs but now I need a wheelie bar bad. I mean bad and it needs to work.  I seen the lunch box one used but I need to go abit better than that. Flip overs are killing my once sweet bodies. Don't let the re-release kill blitzer fandom.

ok so the 2.2" hex wheel situation is driving me mad.
i have hatched a plan to make the hex wheels fit the blitzer (or other tamiya 2WD front such as original Blackfoot/beetle lunchbox) a arms with little modification. my plan is to get Kyosho Ultima SC axles or blackfoot extreme front axles.
the i'll use some junfac or DT02 alloy front knucles and drill them out to fit some 850 ball bearings in there and use the kyosho or BFE axles. the smaller 850 bearings will allow the a arms to be only lightly modified by possibly drilling the holes out a bit to allow screws to be used top and bottom to secure the alloy knuckle to the a arm, instead of the through bolt normally used.

my only worry is the strength of the 850 bearings holding up to the punishment

sound like a plan?

hah, I put a LB wheelie bar on mine too just to keep it from flipping. It's a sloppy fit, but works for now. Good work keeping us updated on your mods (I haven't checked this thread in quite some time). I hadn't thought of the nylon screws to keep the velcro down.

I still run mine quite a bit, and enjoy it immensely.

Wait, what's the 2.2" issue driving you mad? I'm running HPI superstars front/rear, and have no issue since they come with adapters for Tamiya (front adapters so you put in your normal bearings and it works with your axle stubs).

I also had problems with hpi wheels. I put street hogs on them and at the time it was a investment for me. In short they never worked out. They were incredibly sloppy and I went back to stock wheels.

Hello all. Just found this site while I'm searching for Front rims for my Stadium Blitzer. Just found it after 10 years + of storage in my garage.
Like I said I'm looking for rims , and front shocks. I changed out the shocks for RC10 shocks but they are way too short and the wheels I put on there don't fit right.

So it's rebuild time. Looking to give it a second life.

My very first post after finding this site. First order was to rid my ride of the hpi wheels I chose.

Sounds like they have a bit of slop in them - there is a bit in my fronts (since you have to run 2 adapters per front wheel), and it can't be a perfect tight fit that will match the stock setup. But for me it is livable, since my alternative is to buy the stock neon yellow set of 4 (for my Stadium Thunder) at $40, since they are impossible to find elsewhere.

No way.

That's cool, but the white ones are a tad easier. The neon yellow Stadium Thunder (not Blitzer) ones are tough!
