How can I find the bad cell in my 6 cell battery pack?

basically you measure each cell and see what the voltage is. If it is lipo then they usually have a balance lead and you can just measure that. If it is nicd or nimh then you will probably have to take the outer shrink wrap off so you can get some probes in there. The cells that are reading below 2.75v for lipos and probably about 0.8 to 0.9v for nimh are the bad ones.

If it's a Nickel pack it is usually the "hot" cell during charge and discharge.

Its an assembled nimh pack, so no problems getting to the cells. I will check the voltage when I get home. I hook it up to charger and it the charger never starts. I connect the alligator clips to the bars and it makes a slight buzzing sound. But the charger acts like it doesnt even recognize the battery is hooked up. It isnt the charger, because it charges my other batteries just fine. Its a Duratrax digital Intelipeak.

Maybe there simply an open in the battery circuit. Pretty easy to find with a mutitester or dvm. May have to apply slight load to get it to show up and it might even be a real easy fix. yae.
