thorsteenster -> A123 cells and e-station BC6 Charger (8/25/2007 5:43:53 PM)

I just got a 4S A123 pack made with cells from a DeWalt pack and a e-station BC6 charger to go along with it. When I plug the pack in to charge it only see's a 3S pack, when I balance it, it still see's it as a 3S but shows its balancing a 4S. Has anyone else used this combo or had similier experiance? Before this I've only used Scorpion LiPo system so this is kinda new ground for me.
Also if anyone can give me some recomended charge and balancing amp levels, it would be appreciated. Right now I have the charger set to fast charge at 3.8A, regular charge at 2.0A and balance at 1.5A.
This the charger:

Have you got it set to LiFe 4S? From what you are seeing I think you may be in the LiPo mode. I just checked mine and if in the LiPo mode it shows a 4S123 as a 3S.

Bingo, I thought it sensed what type of Li was connected. I even read through the directions! Just changed to LiFe, hope I didnt hurt anything.
Thanks!

It is kind of tricky to find how you switch between LiPo, LiIo and LiFe (A123). Don't know why they chose to designate A123 as LiFe which is lithium-iron rather than LiNPh (lithium Nanophosphate) which is what they really are.
