I have an Electron 6 that is about a yea old......I just got a new Hangar 9 Twist 40 wtih an 0S .55......Do you think this receiver will be adequate enough for this plane using Futaba S3001 servo's x 5.....I have a 1700 mah 4.8 battery for it.....Just curious....I had a Berg 7 in it this morning and it was acting up even changed crystals in the berg and still no range...got kinda scared of it so ended the flying.....I would be flying fine then the motor would just shut down....I was thinking it might be the receiver becasue I could see it getting interference while I was flying it....had to dead stick twice before I decided to quit......oh well any info will be appreciated..........

Electron 6 receiver is not recommended for GP models of that size as per Hitec RCD Electron FAQ.
What is purpose of the Antenna Bobbin? may also be of interest.

I had read somewhere that people were using the electron 6 in their glow planes.......What is the biggest deal with this the vibration from the engine is why it's not recommended in the glow planes........if you wrap it well in foam to cut down on vib. will that help...With the Advertized range of 1 mile it just seems like it should work.....but now that I see where it's not recommended I wouldn't feel safe wtih it now.....Oh well just ordered the Futaba R148DP PCM 8 ch. to see how it works.........It should fit the bill........

I use the electron in glow airplanes, very simnilar to what you are getting. I feel the electrons are excellent receivers; in my range testing (reicever on a 5 foot cardboard box and one servo waiving a flag) it was the best I ever tested; I do it with all my new stuff mostly so I gain confidence in it. I do have my receiver in its foam wrap and it is also in latex foam. When I bought the receiver I was told by Hitec that it was good for all sizes of models. Maybe I heard wrong; but I try to get 2 hours in the air each week on glow planes and it has been trouble free in spring, summer and fall.

The wording on the FAC says "Q. What types of planes should I use the Electron in?
A. The Electron receiver can be used in any type of Aircraft that requires a small and light weight receiver".

It says "any type" and does not say airplane only, or electric and glider only. I think the wording of the anwser could be better, but comparing it to the FACs of the other receivers I think I am right. I can not belive the circut board and construction are not up to task. I thought the downside was that it cost a little more.

Maybe Mr. Mayberry could clarify this.

Even though the Electron is light weight, it can be used in all sizes of models and has similar performance similar to the larger PPM receivers.

Mike.

a few years ago I ran an Electron-6 in a H9 twist and it worked just fine - UNTIL the RX crystal came out! I would fly this RX in any aircraft with confidence as long as I TAPE THAT CRYSTAL IN PLACE!!!

Whoa! Hold the 'phone! This appears to be YOUR recommendation, not Hitec's. I have several of these receivers, a couple of them in large glow models. No probs after a couple of years of usage.
