I need to decide where I should order from. Czech or icare.
Price and time are the only concerns I guess. I believe they both come from the same place. Delivery should be the same.
Per your post I guess it took 2 months from order to shipping from Savex direct.
Icare quoted 2-3 months likely to cover their tail if it should take a little longer to get from Savex.

If you have not posted the website for Savex above, would you post it here please?

Did you guys call Savex or just do everything by email?
To call from my cell is $4.50/ minute
I sent and email 2 days ago and another today. Just want to see what it costs to get directly from them. It looks to be $1,039 through icare before shipping which shouldn't be too bad from Cananda.
Doug, it looks like yours cost a little over $900? What was shipping from Czech?

Ordering Northstar version #30.

Carl

I didn't make it to the bank on time so I have to wait until Monday to wire funds. Recieved the following from Savex. Has updated pricing.
Doug, what was the additional charge from their bank? I will add this to what I send.

For custom paint, retract ready, rudder, flaps, set up for EDF and shipped to my door the total cost is 645 Euro OR I can send $902 US.
I have asked several times about whether or not his bank charges for incoming transfers. I do not get a response to this. I think there is a language barrier. I do not want to cut out flaps or a rudder yet I have no way of knowing if he has already factored in that his bank will hold some for the transfer. I can't imagine that they haven't done this 100 times each year. It really suprises me that Doug is being penalized for not knowing they had not factored in some dollars for transfer cost at their own bank.
It is cheaper for me to send $902 than to send 645Euro. Banks her charge $40 - $50 to send and increase the current exchange rate from 1.37:1 to 1.47:1 to further gouge. Better to let them exchange. Sure hope I get all that I believe I'm paying for.

Dear Mr. Carl Rich
We can sell the kit directli to you. No problem. We don´t take credit cards so when you order you will recive a invoice that you pay via banktransfer, we will ship a kit to you after we have recived your payment , we can´t acept VISA paiment. You will have to pay with a bank transfer to our bank acount.. All planes are made after order so it can take couple of weeks. You will get your deliveri date when you order. Send your adress so you can get a correct amount with shipment. Our L-39 can fly with this size of turbine, for this purpose the airframe is reinforcet with carbon fibre on moste critikal places so it will withstand g- forces at high speed aerobatic manuvers. This is our third generation of the L-39 ( Turbine ) wiht all the improvments that have been made fourth the years. The wing is prepared for the Springair 300 or Jet-1A retrcs . John G Wright from Wren Team http://www.wren-turbines.com/MW44.htm is currently building the L39 for the MW44 so we are in contact with him and we are making reinforcements that he suggest for the turbine version of the L39.

L39 is manufactured in several different designs:
1. Al silver, painted inside mold 290,-Eur.
2. Al silver, prepared for retracs 340,-Eur.
3.For turbine is possible, the fuze and wing is reiforcet with carbon so it
can withstand more stress and heat + 50,-Eur.
4. For EDF there is full GFK ducting for 90 - 94 mm diameter fans (MOKI) or
90-94,7mm (Shubeller, Schloser) + 70,-Eur
5. Different air-brush designs, as on our web site + 80 - 150,-Eur
Picture nr.1 and 4 and 41 and 46 is elaborate marking (150,-Eur)
Picture 6 and 21 and 22 and 25 and 32 easy marking (80,-Eur)
The rest picture ( 110,-Eur ) .
6. Retract Jet-1A turbine version, wheels, brakes + 400,-EUR
7. Retract Jet-1A EDF version + 320,-EUR
8. Accessories for retract Jet-1A + 60,-EUR
9. Landing Flaps + 30,-Eur , rudder + 20,-Eur
10. Postage and packing by USA + 75,-Eur

Delivery time aprox 5 week.
Sincerely yours
Vaclav Sadlo

Carl, i received mine today and he gave me the flaps and a complete and installed canopy hatch and latch. The ducting and instructions are completely confusing. I can't figure out what holds the fan in and what you do with the inlet ducting when you install the fan. The duct instructions don't translate well at all. If anyone has done this please chime in and shed some light on this. The craftsmanship is excellent as always and he did a nice job on the military camo scheme and all insignias. The charge on his end was 30 Euros so i was told he would leave out the flaps, but Vaclav is a good sort and did the right thing by me. If you order the silver version you will get it quicker and cheaper with the option of some nice schemes by adding a little paint here and there, see my pics. Doug PS it won't let me send my pics?

Doug, thanks for the info. 30 Euro is alot! Glad he took care of you.
If you can't get pics to post here would you start a thread on rcgroups and post there? Just put a link here.
It would be great to be able to see what all you get.
Did you send US dollars or Euro?

thanks,
Carl

I wired $902 to Savex on Monday 10am. It's now Tuesday 3:30pm. I thought an electronic wire transfer was immediate. I sent an email 10 minutes ago and Savex replied immediately that the wire transfer takes 5 days and so he doesn't have it yet.
Did you guys come across this or were you quickly notified that he had your money and your plane was scheduled?

Savex is at least 8 hours ahead of Cincinnati, Ohio time. I just received an email that they have received my wire transfer at 1:45 am this morning my time. Delivery is 5-6 weeks. I could have this done and ready to fly by Christmas.
I need to know;
What retracts fit? Spring Air 301,302 or different?
What servos fit?
what wheels work?

Any thoughts guys?

Carl

Is there an active EDF thread for this jet? I know there is one for turbine that is 1000000 pages. Was hoping to gain some insight without reading pages that started in the 1990s.
Sounds like the 301s will work for retracts.
Wanted to see where folks were putting battery trays, flight reports on electric set up, any good info I can use during my build.
