I think i am going to skip the retract install for now and use the model as a bungee launch. This will allow me to fly at our electric field which is all grass, will decrease the weight by more than a pound and get the model in the air quicker with improved performance. I wish the DS-51 shroud was built for more structural integrity. The casing deforms so easily that despite successfull bench tests when i installed the fan in the plane something is causing a distortion and i have been unable to pinpoint the problem. I ran the fan up yesterday and proceded to tear up a 1 inch area of the inner shroud with the fan blades before i could shut it down. I don't know what it did to the blades and balance. The intake itself is not causing the problem cause i ran the entire assembly outside of the plane with no problems. I may redesign the fan mount since it is problematic to install and seems to be causing this problem with the rotor hitting the shroud. The DS should be beefed up in the rotor area with a ring to stiffen it. Carl, go with a decent metal gear servo on your nosewheel steering, HS-81 or equal. This area takes a beating. I'll probably do the gear down the road and activate the flaps also. Doug
