Hi, guys!

I'm also building a Funtana pro, most of the woodwork is finished. I have a MVVS 26cc gas engine with the original pipe, and Hitec digital servos.

I am feel pretty confident building model airplanes, but I am on a very steep learning curve regarding flying. The Funtana will be my third plane, and all together I have spent 4 cans of fuel (ever). I have 30-40 hours on simulator. I can do some small tricks with my PT40 (trainer), and land in a little crosswind without many mishaps.

Exactly how crazy is my project? What would be a proper setup for a beginner like me, regarding throws and balance point? How radical is the balance point on the plan (at the hooks)? Should I move it forward a bit?

Ole

It appears that Probuild have not got them in, and i am fed up waiting. I have phoned a number of times, and they have not been very helpful at all. They have no idea when they are getting them, and every month for the past six or so months their reply has been "soon"!
I asked them to email me when they have got them, or at least give some updates, but nothing.

So they clearly arent very interested in selling anything to me.

So now i am getting a Capiche 140 from island hobbies- you get an update very month as to how the development is progressing, and i belive that it should be better than a Funtana Pro.

Good luck with yours robert. If he still doesnt have them in, then i would go capcihe 140.

Hi guys,

Can someone tell me how big the Box is the Funtana Pro Comes in??

And where in Germany are they available? - My Girlfriend from Germany is coming to visit me here in New Zealand at Christmas and It would be a shame for her not bring a Model over and save on the high shipping costs to NZ.

Also - My german is not so good, Has someone translated the instructions to english??

Thanks,

Thanks for the Box size Dalita, Not as big as the Synergy 90 ARF I bought back from Germany last month!! (what a mission that was...)

Does anyone have any photos of what is in the box? I assume it is all pretty good quality otherwise DA wouldn't be importing them from Germany...

What hardware comes in the kit?

Has anyone got any construction pics?

Thanks

Just got back from home from a trip to Probuild - the Funtana Pros are in!

The new 'Pro' version of the kit looks fantastic, with a new Jig system for the wings and relatively extensive instructions - in english - with pictures! A huge improvement over the old Funtana S kit.

I can't wait to get mine into the air!

Bill.

My Funtana pro is almost finished.
I have got a question.
Because of the "removable tail feature" of the Pro you need tail struts.
The brackets are off-center so it is not possible to use clevis.
I thought about ball clevis but then it is not "quik disconnect" anymore.
Do you guys have a idea?

To me this detail was a design miss. I threaded some aluminum rods and glued them into the fins, and fastened 0,8 music wire with screws one end and a threaded collet in the other end.

Thanks ole!
Yes, in my opinion it is also a designers fault.
Is it still fast removable or don't you remove the tail at all.
This feature gives me a headache!

Didier!
It is still removable, I just remove the screws and unscrew the wire. On the other hand I really never remove them, as I have a Vokswagen bus.

Hi!

I'm new to this thread, and I want to ask about glue on the Funtana... I have a ZDZ40 gasser that I'm going to put in to it when it's ready, and I have just start to snap the CNC-cut peaces out from the balsa sheets... (soon to start building)
I heard someone say that you can't use thin CA on a balsa plane with gas engine...-that you're going to need the glue to be a little flexible... But I would sure love to glue it with CA (thin ZAP) to speed things up a bit... But I don't want it to "fall apart" in mid air

Thanks for any input in this...
Peter

Thanks Krayzc!

Anyone knows any good building thread..?
There is a LOT of parts and the manual is only in Geman..and I can't a single word in that language
I believe I'll get it together anyway but good pictures and some nice advice would be great!

To me it looks like one of the best kits out there.. The best I've seen!

Peter
