Field assembly will be very easy. I will show this hopefully by Monday night! It almost assembles as fast as a mono plane. Stay tuned!

Thank you,
Reza

Could you jump ahead a little and let us know about wing(S) attachment? Just curious about field assembly!

You are very welcome. You know that is a great question and I get that a lot! I have over 600 flights with the 102" and I know the plane by heart, once I get this one in the air, I will feed you guys with my honest opinion and will do a comparison. I will post videos as well.

Thank you for following this thread,
Reza

Thanks for doing this Reza. Your efforts in putting this together while making this thread will encourage more people to buy it I'm sure.

When I spoke to Quique at the Nall he mentioned that the plane is VERY responsive so I'm interested to get your take on it when you get it in the air. I currently fly a 50 cc QQ Yak but I'm always looking for an excuse to go bigger!

Great idea! Please do chip in while the build is going on.

As to the servo grommit tool, I just use a screwdriver that fits and load it up with as many as I need and push them home one at a time, just keep your finger on the bottom one and push the top one home.

Randy I too wish we were closer! I certainly could use help in projects that are really time sensitive! Thanks very much for your help offering all the time!

Hey Reza! I haven't posted in a while, work has had me occupied with too much work. (guess thats why its called work!)

I have a few questions

1) Am I still on the list? This thing is awesome, already have the servos for it.
2) From your perspective, any fit problems for a 2004 Explorer? I know the length is fine but I'm a little concerned about the area above the wing mount.

Had my house up for sale, just accepted an offer about 15 minutes ago...moving to somewhere that has room for me to park a trailer. I think the 120" is on the list after the python

Hi Shakes,

How are you doing? I noticed it's been a while

Yes you are on the list. I think it should fit fine. I can give you more detailed measurment in a week or as soon as I am done with it.

Good to have you back. This plane has been gone together so nicely, I don't remember touch an xacto knife or a CA bottle yet.

Reza

I've been checking on the status of this plane every couple of days, just have not posted.

Another question -
the pipe tunnel looks very very long. The mounts look way back there, is it more set up for tuned pipes or for cannisters?
I'm seriously going with the greives tuned pipes on this puppy with with smoke. Wait - do they have front exit pipes?

Can you show a few pics of the 2 piece cowl or saving that?

I will post more pics in the next couple of days. It is set up for canisters and comes with tund pipe mounts. cans are forward exit but grieve pipes rear! It is amazingly clean. I'll get more pics Pipes add tons of power to the DA100. I was going to do it with tuned pipes as well but I'm not sure yet!

OK rudder and vertical fin. You need to trim the covering that goes in the fuse. It is very snug fit, make sure don't push the vertical fin into the fuse without trimming because you may crack the fuse!

I have not glued it yet but I will use 30 min epoxy. You can use elmers glue but cure time is longer. I will include pics of both full scale and QQ scheme on this part.

One thing you need to be very careful is NOT to scar the balsa! If that happened use thin CA to make sure there won't be any failure in flight!

Hing the rudder to vertical fin before you insert the fin. Please find attached some pictures.

How is it going so far? Any questions? Looks trivial

Tomorrow I will do the stab/elevator and glue the vertical fin! After that everything else remaining is bolting and tightening no more glueing! Isn't that great?

Landing gear and wheel pants can be installed in 15 minutes!! Good parts are yet to come! I also will educate those who are not famaliar with 2.4/ power system installation if I see an interest in that area on this thread as well. Duralite has made a new regulator system for our Python that will be available as soon as Python hits the market!

Just for peples information

FUTABA S9152 is the 290'ish oz*in servo with a larger case size.
FUTABA S9156 is the 340'ish oz*in servo in a standard case size.
I am flying my SX with one 9156 on each elevator... 30 flights that way with great luck.

Reza,

Looking very nice. I was very impressed with the Python 100 that I saw at Joe Nall. I had a great time helping Quique and Wayne with the airplanes that week. Keep feeding pictures and info to all of us with this thread. Not only is it informative for when the rest of us have to build our pythons, but it helps pass the time until the shipment arrives. I do like the QQ scheme but I think I am a bit partial to the yellow and blue one. Maybe I could get one that is half and half....you know, left side one scheme, right half the other.

Talk to you soon,

Kevin

I am jealous, you just had to build one first on RCuniverse..
I can bet MAUDIB is just in tears!
Just so happens I have dumped my 100cc plane..... HMMM looks as though all hte compnents will just drop right in!
I will have to say tha tthe DA100 was respnsible for it..... just up and quit...10 feet up and in high alpha position.... I gueess I should have been running High and fast with a new unproven engine!!
Live and learn!!
I guess I ate my words that gas would be so super reliable so much more than glow.....
So far my 2-gas engines I have had are now 0-for 2....(da& evolution)
Well, perhaps I will have better luch with a QQ plane?
total world domination is what I am looking for!!!
I would love to try one out..
