For those of you that put the Pitts Python decal on the top wing -- how did you do it? The decal is wider than the center wing section, so did you cut it first and then apply the decals to the center and each wing? Or, did you put it on then cut down the gap between the center section and the wing?

By the way, this plane is the easiest plane to assemble that I have ever seen. It is practically falling together!

Put the top wing together...place the decal on the center section and place it where you want it to go. Peel of the backing and stick it in place across all three wing sections. Use a very sharp knife and cut across the decal where the wings join...easy!

Sorry I never replied to your question.
I do not think it is a good idea! I also do not think that is a common problem!
I know of 6 of them built and not one having that problem. I'd say use a very light spinner, light ignition battery. Dave Sullivan built 4 of these, I asked him if he had any issues, he said no. I built two, no issues! Max a friend of mine built his and it balanced out right!

Thank you,
Reza

Rezagh,
Due to the fact that the majority of the reports about the Python is they all seem to come out quite nose heavy, do you see an issue with mounting the engine 1/4" or 1/2" further back (closer to th firewall) by changing the spacers? This is course would be dependent on the clearance between the prop and the cowl, but I think there will be enough room to move the engine back. Although I have not got the plane all together yet, I thought I might give that a try ahead of time based on the other people's experience.

Thanks Rezagh, I have not gotten to that point yet, however if I do have an issue with being nose heavy that may be something I will try. I will say this though...this is one well built plane, QQAC has done a really nice job, I can hardly wait to add all the "bling" to it as I have ordered a custom decal set with plenty of flash!

Guys,

After speaking with Quique, he mentioned you can use 10mm shorter stand off if you need to, without seeing any difference in flying and prop efficiency.

Thank you,
Reza

Okay boys, so your python is complete and you are ready to haul it down to the field, but wait I need wing bags...who can recommend a decent set of wing bags and does anyone have any knowledge of anyone who has custom made them for the QQ Python wings?

Hi Reza,

I just ordered the plance and could not wait for the plane to arrive.

On people questions regarding the CG, do you think the Canister will help the problem as it is located further aft ? and what is your suggestion for the 3D application. I am thinking of buying the canister but if there is no advantages other than noise reduction probably I will skip it and go for straight standard mufler.

Thanks

Eka

Hi Eka,

What engine are you going to use?

Thank you,
Reza

I think you can use two 86"er bags. If I remember right I think that's what Quique was using the last time I saw him.

Guys,

We are giving away a free QQ-Yak 49" Electric. Check out our RCU support forum and sign up

As for the wings bags, I will be making some calls tomorrow and let you guys know but we don't have any unless you go for two 86" bags as Lee mentioned

Good Luck on the raffle,
Reza

I just ordered a set from Eagle Wing Bags. Ted makes an amazing product, nothing else I have seen compares. He isn't fast but his bags are worth the wait.

Phil,

Is it one set of wing bags for all 4 wings or two set? Do you have a picture of how it looks like or a link?

Thank you,
Reza

Reza,

The link is www.eaglewingbags.com. I don't have the bags yet but I asked Ted to make them the same as he did for our ultimate - 2 separate bags that each hold 2 wings. In between the wings is a pocket for a wing tube and on the back are pockets for the interplane strut and bolts. He can make them to meet your speciifications - if you want a single tote that holds 4 bags I am sure he can comply, although the width of 4 wings mike make the bags unwieldy. Ted uses a heavy canvas-like cordura that is very well padded on the inside, he includes handles and small loops on the end that can be used to hang the bags vertically. I think they are much nicer than the more commonly encountered foil covered bags. Ted charges $149 for Python bags.

Like all craftsman Ted takes his time getting orders filled and is occasionally slow to respond to emails.

I purchased two wingtote 42" double wing bags, they work great for holding the python wings. Each bag holds the right and left pannels with a padded divider in the center. They also each have a slott for the upper and lower wing tube.
