Engine Installation:

For canister installation you will need to cut 30mm of teflon coupler. Rest pictures will explain. Also cans are MTW 75, with 50mm drop flex header.

Rezagh,

Sorry, how long were the dowl Engine Stand-offs? and how for out did the prop hub stick out?

thanks, Ward

4 bolts upper wings, 8 bolts for the 2 cabanes and 2, 1/4x20 nylon thumb screws on lower wings, also 4 connections for aileron servos. Two wing tubes plus small tube on bottom wing. No flying wires to hook up each time, not bad for the size of this plane. Estimate 10 to 15 minutes with practice.

Got it! Thanks!

Actually it is 4, 1/4 X 20 Nylon Thumb Screws on the lower wings!

Finally finished my python , still have not had the chance to fly it. Da 100 with MTW tuned pipes. 9303 2.4 waiting for my 12X hopefully soon. This is a really nice plane when finished and also large. Graphics are by Bad Brad. Hitec 5955 every where except rudder 8711. Batteries are all duralite, receiver packs mounted in turtle deck as per instruction balance is fine! Tru turn 4 1/2" P51 lightened spinner with 28X10 Mezj. prop.

newshoundaussie,
how did you do the engine baffling inside the cowl? Seems we both share a love for emcotec products..I do notice that you still have the jumpers installed on the DPSI unit...are you wanting to run 4.8 volts to your servos for some reason?...if you remove the jumpers you will be running 6 volts to your servos...your plane looks good man, I submitted some pictures of mine a while ago, look back in this post to see my pics. My graphics were also done by Bad Brad!

Nice Job!

Does BAD Brad have a standard Graphic set for the Python?

Any modifications you recommend? Flight reports yet?

thanks, Ward

Yes Brad has a stantard set which he will modify if you want. Have him change the N number on the tail. I have already had an email from someone saying I had his AMA number. OH WELL! Hope to fly it maybe Tuesday.

Thanks for the heads up on the voltage, sharp eye always great to have someone notice a potential problem. I had already changed it! First time for a emcotec unit very nice. I have always used powerboxes in the past. Just used balsa and made a duct attached it and painted it black. Temps have been good running on the ground.

Well I maidened my Kimball Python today and all I have got to say is WOW....luckily for me we had very little wind today and this presented a perfect opportunity for me to maiden my plane. With a DA100 this plane took off in about 30 feet and just continued to climb...I needed NO trim adjustments at all. I do note though when I turn to knife edge she has a tendency to pull towards the gear...any suggestions? Quique and Mr. Kimball you have designed one hell of a nice plane, now all I have to do is learn how to fly it...

Left and right rudder knife edge do require some up elevator mixed in. Just use your TX and start with 3% and test. Keep testing until you have the right amount of pitch mixing to fly knife edge with no pitch coupling. Simple job.
