I am looking for an all around charger. I have nicd, nimh, lipo, and lithium a123, or other various rechargeable lithiums. So my question is can I have the charger set @ different charge voltages. Ie...A123 only goes up to 3.3 volts instead of 3.7v. and other lithiums only 3v. Can this charger detect these different batteries? I am planning to make a charging station for my loose batteries.
Any "better" charger for about $150?
Thanks for the great advice.

Man, I looked around at the higher-end chargers for a while and didn't see a whole lot of difference (Read online reviews, asked around, and such).

I went with the latest/greatest MRC charger and got it from Tower hobbies using their various promotions (Order over 149.95 and get $20 off). I ordered it and some Proline CA glue to get it over the $20 off threshold...

It's a good charger. I've used it on all my packs over the past few weeks that I've had it, and I've seen 'revitaliztion' in some of my older packs. It's a good product... Instructions could be better (MRC - you guys need to write it at a less technical level/audience and include more 'what-if' troubleshooting scenarios; constructive criticism here! ).

I've not used it on Lithiums yet, so you're mileage may vary!

I recommend it.

Sorry for the delay, I was out for a few days. The 989 will have no problem charging all of the batteries you listed, but from what I understand the A123 cells require their own charger. I could be wrong, so somebody please correct me if I am. Also, most standard LiPos are 3.7 volts with a max of 4.20, so the charge parameters for this type are set for that. Other than those, the 989 has specific settings for each type of battery. You can even set profiles for up to 24 different packs. So it's a very versatile charger with the types and voltage of batteries you can charge.

Thanks Rabid.
