I had some great flights in over the last two weeks while I was off on parental leave, even in the 30 degree weather the heli flies great!!! I had one incident that was caused by both pilot error and a breeze coming around the side of my house that I hadn't dealt with until I ventured out that far to fly around a tree (for the 10th time). Basically as I was making my turn around it, a breeze pushed the heli towards the tree and I reacted too slow to go up over (the small tree just planted this spring) and the blades went right into it. It sliced through the top branches and I immediately powered down and let it fall about 8 feet into the tall grass on it's side. Fortunately, I only had minimal damage - bent spindle shaft, broke plastic ends of tail boom brace, bent flybar, and chewed up leading edges of wooden main blades. I immediately went inside and removed/replaced the spindle shaft, CA'd the tailboom ends, straightened the flybar, and was test hovering in the basement about an hour later. All checked out okay, just need to re-adjust blade tracking now and get the pitch back to -2 at zero throttle, it's at -4/5 now. Outstanding heli! I had quite a few flights with it and this was my first incident, pulled off a couple piro's and did some head-in maneuvers as well and cannot wait for the next 30 degree calm day to do it again. :D
