As srout said ... do not flip idle up unless you are at least to mid stick, you could do it at more if the pitch settings are similar to normal mode.

Disconnect the motor and check the pitch range in both normal and then in idle up to see what pitch settings are at from the factory ... you may need to adjust pitch using the little knobs down on the TX.

Be careful doing so though as I was setting up my WFly to get the pitch I wanted and ended up messing up the PZT one for normal mode as it is stuck all the way to the right and cannot be turned anymore.

Just one more question. When you idle up does the transmitter automatically change the collective pitch for the increased rotor speed??
Thanks.

When you flip to idle up, idle up has it's own pitch settings like -11 to +11 and matching/appropriate throttle settings like 100 - 85 - 100.

I need to know if you can buy just the gear set for the towerpro servos that come with the helicopter? If not what would be some good choices for new upgraded servos. (dont want to go to expensive) I was thinking about the HS65mg.
Thanks.

dont think anyone is using the dx7

yes the HS65mg would be the gear of choice. ive only stripped 2 9g,s and since there only 9 bucks its no biggie.

the heli flies sweet with the 9g,s but ive had great luck using them with a 9650 on the tail and the logitech 2100t gyro and a dx6.

tonight i just stripped everything off went back to stock except for a HS81 servo on the tail. i was going to try 3D cause the heli flew so perfect. now i have to dial everything in again and im about 75% there lol still have to dial the TX in and my gyro is way off.

does seem to have allot more power but its probably just because my pitch is off. if i get this dialed in and im comfortable with hovering ill try a little 3D then pop a align 430L motor in for a little higher HS

I was thinking of buying 3 Eflight s75 servos just because I can get them from my LHS. I can also get replacement gears there too. Does anyone know about these servos??? If not I will be buying more of the 9g tower pro servos. Still debating what to do.

im using the 65HG and upon stripping them if and when ill go to MG the HG,s are 25 bucks. use the 9g,s for now, youll get past the wrecking all the time stage pretty quick anyway. if you must upgrade get the HS65,s that way you can use them on any of the helis you will get and youll have the best.

i bought the HS65,s from mike great service, they stayed in there box and i finaly popped them in my trex cause the 9g,s were working so good. yes the 9g,s stripp quick but you can use your tail servo for replacement. i do reccomend a better tail servo.

ive only had to buy 2 9g,s and i wreck allot

make sure you get all 3 servos the same.

Im starting to get close to a good hover Im finally keeping my nerves togather when it pops off the ground. When it lifts off and starts to drift left do I stop it from drifting by giving it right cyclic? Does any one know if the settings for the dx6 are similar to the dx7? Thanks for all your help by the way.

drifting left is normal, yes use right cyclic. if it hovers 4' high and still drifts then trim it out.

dx6 and 7 are different.

man i got my stock setup TX and RX back on and i can hover in such a small area that i could not do with my dx6. who knows could be just the pitch change but the stock TX rocks lol

im almost positive the dx wasnt setup perfect with my stock esc because i seem to have more power now and i suppose i will have much less bogging with hard FF pumps like i was doing.

I had only 1 crash and it stripped out 2 servos at the same time. (Dangit) I think it was because I fought it all the way till it hit the ground rather than just letting off of the throttle. ( I wasnt in idle up) For now on I will be letting off of the throttle. Has anyone ever bent the Main rotor shaft?? Heres what happened to me Bent rotor shaft (straightend it within .0008) 2 stripped servos, broken main blades, broken rod end and hurt pride. Oh well that happens. Good thing though parts are readily available from KA-Planes.

Im not liking the stosk tx mostly just because of interferance due to where I live, I orderd a dx7 so we will see how it goes.

speaking of interference i dont think it is interference. i just hovered a whole pack and mind you i took out the stock TX and RX when i first got this heli. i had a bad glitching effect if you want to calll it that with stock stuff and with the dx6 i never had 1 issue. i put the stock TX and RX in last night and like the first battery pack when i first got this heli and tonights run the throttle cuts out like a bad ESC but i know the battery and ESC is perfect ive traced my problem to the TX or RX finaly. i did install the ferrite ring mike gave me trying to fix this issue but its exactly the same. if it was a glitching issue or interference then more then just the throttle cutting down would be affected. the tail or cyclic is still perfect without a hicup.

does anyone have any ideas oe simular issues. most of the trouble with this heli has been me im its worst enemy lol but now ive grown and im doing things rite and this bugs me more then hitting idle up in the garage and still hovering perfect but when i went back to normal mode it jumped up towards the roof and wall oops crash lol luckily all i did was break 1 plastic main blade and the bottom tray that holds the landing gear.[as far as i know]

if your having a simular issue with the throttle cutting please post i want to get this fixed.

I have the throttle cutting out in a couple spots low stick I havent got it very high yet but it makes it harder to learn my right cyclic stick dosen't seem to center all the time either. Between that and all the interferance in my area is making thing interesting, but I got the dx7 comin on monday hopefully I can figure out how to set it up I got alott of home work to do lol .
