Thanks Mike!!!

I can't wait for the winds (20+) to subside so I can get more outdoor flights in :D

This is an excellent heli!!!

Did you get my order [;)] just placed

mikek0416 -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/19/2007 9:35:58 PM)

It is indeed excellent. Yes, I just saw your order and Diana is processing it. Enjoy and my sincere thanks
Mike

MiniCwik ,
Did you pick up the tail from USHobbySupply.com ? Did it come as the whole assembly or parts , could you provide links or part numbers.

Thanks
Brian G

Helihap -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/20/2007 1:01:48 AM)

microheli brand has about the best and they match, but align has the blue system that is sharp too.

TomOver -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/20/2007 9:15:14 PM)

I think if you do not over torque the gold cylnder to the plastic flange it will caise less stress on the flange keeping it from busting. I did replace one and haven't had a problem since. Mr M helped me.

I Love it, Love it!!!! [:D]

SteveCink -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/21/2007 8:42:10 PM)

Does anyone have the basic DX6 settings to get me started or can I use another helicopters settings if I can find them? Thank you

ea01bg -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/21/2007 9:09:21 PM)

Here is the settings Mike from KA-Planes sent me. I have not tried them yet.

I will not be near the DX6 for a couple of days but have some basic programming here on my laptop, I think someone gave me them one time for another heli but most of the settings looks the same or at least similar.

The one thing in particular is note the throttle setting is normal whereas with lots of other systems it is REV

SteveCink -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/21/2007 9:26:12 PM)

Thanks , do you know if they were for the 450 or generic? Once I get this going by next weekend I hope, I will let you know how it went.

ea01bg -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/21/2007 11:28:25 PM)

not sure.
I'm waiting until winter sets in to swap mine out.

SteveCink -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/22/2007 4:00:09 AM)

I think once you get the servos going in the right direction you need to ensure the CP settings at the end are coordinated. Will find out......

TomOver -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/24/2007 1:02:50 AM)

Its a pretty standard series of settings. You can almost set up with the default and with some trial and error on the reversing of servos can get there fairly quick. Just be cautious with the throttle setting, normal seems to be the standard whereas a lot of systems you use reverse.

PaulLee -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/26/2007 11:08:10 AM)

I went to large field and flew in good breeze with no problem. I keep rotation speed good and not real sharp turns. About to move more south so maybe better flying.

MiniCwik -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/26/2007 11:52:15 AM)

That's cool PaulLee, you know how I was asking you about connecting the lipo battery monitor over on RCG?

Do you think I could just solder a male Deans to the lipo monitor and then get a dual female to male Deans adapter to connect to the battery? I think I will go that route (since I already cut off the small red connector from the monitor (dohh)).

looks like it would work well MiniCwik

MiniCwik -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/26/2007 7:01:55 PM)

Thanks man!

I will try and pick one up this weekend.

TerryE -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/26/2007 7:30:26 PM)

I have someone wanting to sell me a used Blackhawk 500 (not a KA version, just a regular version).

It appears to be in pretty good condition - never crashed, etc...

Is there an upgrade "kit" available that KA (or someone) sells that would make the needed improvements, or do I need to buy pieces seperately.

I do not care (at least now) about "bling", I am looking more for needed performance upgrades / weakness that need fixing. I plan to learn larger heli control with it, so I am not looking for a 3D machine (at least not yet).

Any advice appreciated
Thanks
Terry

mikek0416 -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/26/2007 8:55:15 PM)

will email you for the particulars.
Mike

gino198 -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/26/2007 9:47:20 PM)

I am thinking in the area of a tail servo and if the tower pros are on the ail and ele they could be chaged out at a point in time with futabas or hitecs.

Helihap -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/27/2007 11:46:11 PM)

I was checkng out the CPD4 on the falcon link but it only works on CPs and not CCPMs. Do you think the FS8 is worth a try? Anyone try it?

Old Rotorhead -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/29/2007 12:44:27 PM)

HeliHap-
I have tried, or am trying the FS8. So far I haven't been able to get it to work right, but still experimenting before I rip it off. It does weird things with the servos cycling, and is very touchy in different locations. Hard to fly when your servo is full aft.

Helihap -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/29/2007 4:02:10 PM)

I was reading that conversion crystals are required as well. Did you use them? Cant find a lot of info.

Helihap -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/29/2007 4:03:29 PM)

probably, but the 9g servos on mine work great.

MiniCwik -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/29/2007 4:12:15 PM)

Ugh, I hope the winds die down this afternoon ... 10mph is a little uncomfortable yet for me but I had some good calm flights in yesterday, just hovering, and slow FF flight with turns back and forth. I did do some 90 & 45 deg piro's though and am itching to go all the way round, but am trying to go slow as my hands were shaking yesterday so bad that you could see my TX antenna shake. [:D]

What a rush though and these heli's are so much smoother and stable outside, in my basement they are still smooth and stable but it flies differently ... you know?

Helihap -> RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk (10/29/2007 4:19:16 PM)

Yep, they are thrilling to fly outside. Inside is good training for learning really tight control but more risks of hazards LoL been there but I still do it often!
