The DX6i is a great TX, not that I've used many.... I love the way you have control over a lot of the stuff like Dual Rates and Expo. It also works great with most sims out there... with a bit of tweaking in the sim (PM me for more info on that). YOU WILL HAVE TO SETUP A NEW MODEL FOR THE BH450. You will have to bind that model to the appropriate receiver (the one you install into the BH) To setup the DX6i, watch finless bob's CCPM setup videos on helifreak. Understand what the servos are supposed to do. Here is a basic rundown, but the videos show exactly what should happen. The "outside" servos are the ones connected to the sides of the frame on the BH450, and the "inside" servo is the one connected to the "back" of the swashplate. 1) Collective input raises/lowers all 3 servos at the same rate (keeps the swash level) 2) Aileron input moves the two outer servos in opposite directions **inside servo is not affected**(Tilts the swash in the direction you wish to travel) 3) Elevator input moves the inside servo opposite to the outside servos (tilts the swash forward and back) Once you understand servo mechanics, here is what you need to do Connect your RX in the heli. Your manuals will come in very handy here. Here are some hints: 1) Gyro goes to rudder 2) Gyro gain (single lead) goes to gear 3) Elevator goes to elevator (This is the servo connected to the "inside" of the swash) 4) Throttle goes to ESC (make sure your motor is NOT connected) 5) Pitch and Aileron can go to either of the two remaining ones 6) leave the BATT/BIND empty Setup your heli model on the TX and set the swash to 120 CCPM. You need to connect your Aileron and collective servos up then your elevation one. Once these are connected, disconnect your motor from the ESC and connect your battery. Center your Cyclic stick. Does your collective work? i.e. when you push the throttle stick up, does the swash move up evenly? If not, use the reversing options on the radio until you get the servos doing what they are supposed to. Then, you can go into the swash mix setup and get the cyclic working properly. You can input negative values to change the direction of each servo. I kept my values at +/-60 depending on the direction needed. Servo setup really depends on the way you connected them, so I can't tell you the EXACT settings to use. Watching finless' videos should make it clear. Then setup your pitch/throttle curves, there is a LOT of info around to do this. It really comes down to your flying style. Make sure you setup your throttle hold switch in both the pitch and throttle curve settings. I set my throttle hold pitch curve to 45 right across, and throttle curve to -5. (just to make sure it has NO throttle and a little negative pitch). I setup my Normal and Stunt curves to be identical, I am not doing 3d yet, so I did not want to make a mistake and throw the Idle up switch and lose my heli. Setup your GYRO to sw-gyro and have a value of 60 to start with. If it wags in flight, lower that value, if it drifts, increase it. DR settings I left alone... I have setup EXPO a little to "tame" the cyclic. This is all I can think of for now Mik
