i broke a heavy duty spindle shaft... i broke a screw in half, the other half of the screw is stuck to the rotor grip... i barely got the heli off the ground, now it's down... blackhawk down! didnt even had the chance to fly it outside.. i hope i get some parts for it ..i did throttle down immediately..it was too late, it hit zimba (stuff toy). it's a stupid mistake.. trying to hover on an 8 foot square area is very stupid.. i got lucky, mike at ka-planes sells the spindle shaft, nobody sells the other parts for my heli.. Thats what i get for buying a limited version of BH450 anybody has an idea how to take a broken screw out of the grip?

I hope the gauzer parts fit for you. that head and grip on your BH is nothing like what we all have. as far as getting the screw out. if there's anything sticking out, try carefully gripping it with a set of needle nose. if not, drill it out VERY carefully. then of course you'd need a tap and die set to rethread the hole.

oh yeah.. these heli's are to big to try and fly inside. you got lucky it was only a toy that got hit. it could ahve been much much worse

here is the pic of my rotor head, of course there would be no use for it if i cant use my rotor grips due to that broken screw. The part is nowhere to be found online unless mike can special order it for me. its a floating type rotor, i guess helipro decided to use their neighbor's rotor head on this version . Here are my options, the 2nd photo for 99$ or the 3rd photo for 172$ .. wish me luck

Is there a machine shop in your area? A good machinest could remove that (broken shaft) for way less than 90.00! My first thoughts were"i'd replace the head/swash,with a regular BH head/swash parts, but if Mike has the shaft,I would take the blade/grip to a machine shop,or tool & die maker,if any are around. It would be a simple job for them. Ron

Does mike has the spindle shaft? yes and no.. although the shaft he sells has the same part number with the one i got, i just found out by comparing the photos that his is diferent.. his uses a nut to lock the grips and mine uses a screw to lock it. outside thread and mine has inside thread.. male or female i guess yes i did thought about converting it to a usual BH rotor head but mike only has the stock rotor parts and not the pro version, his main shaft is different too .. even if i can get it converted after a few more parts replaced, it still means i'll be downgrading getting the gazaur rotor head set to fit means i would have plenty of parts available if i trashed my heli again after i fixed it.. Floating type rotor system has less parts, i kinda want to try my luck with it .. lol

you could always convert it to a Trex head. Mike has the complete head available. the plus side would be that parts for the head are available just about everywhere.

that sounds interesting bro..hmm the servo positions on the blackhawk would work on trex's swashplate? how about the main shaft, main gear does it need to be replaced too? i might consider that.. how much do you think it will cost me .. parts+labor? i'll just probably send my BH to mike then..
