Very Nice Noob!!!! Love the canopy...did you paint it yourself??? You are going to love the 401!!! Holds rock solid! I definately want a digital servo for the tail...maybe I will pick one up at the LHS tomorrow since I am in the middle of rebuilding...hmmmmm I wonder how mad the wife will be? [)]
The conversion is going well...should have it done tomorrow, I think. The rotor is alot heavier than the stock plastic thats for sure and the blade grips look massive...I will take some side by side shots of it...I am calling it a night though...I have had to set up the entire head from scratch and will have to adjust the links to new heights. It is taller than the stock and I am topping out at full throttle...but that will be easy enough to fix. I bought the swash leveler from KA and that has made set up a breeze!
I am considering going with a higher tooth pinion to get the head speed up...has any one moved up in pinion tooth count? Any recommendations?? Anything I have to worry about with the stock motor?

thx ed. i didn't paint it...it was prepainted. all i had to do was drill the mount holes. got them at kaplanes.

i have the thunderpower 2200mah 25c lipo and i think its to much for the stock motor and esc. that lipo is like dynamite! . i was thinking about the JGF450 motor and castle creation phoenix 35a would be great for this bird. it will easily handle the thunderpower's juice.

Finally! i made up my mind i just ordered a gazaur complete rotor set and some extra spare parts.. i should be good for at least 2 more crashes.. I can't wait to get my parts and get my BH up and running again! Thanks Ed for the gazaur links.. pimping out my BH before i even learn to fly it.. i'm thinking about a new canopy, heavy duty struts and beefier skids, any recommendations guys?

Helitubbies-Congrats on your order...I hope you are up and flying again soon! I just installed the Super Skids from Ka-Planes...they look good and appear to be able to hold up as well! Time will tell. They are not beefier than the stock but the landing struts are better built and they are suppose to disperse the shock of hard landings to prevent frame cracks.

Noob-With the weight of the new rotor head I am a little worried about the head speed I will have. I am moving up on the blades, as well, to 315 or 325 I have a set of both and I am a little worried that the stock configuration will not have enough punch...I was thinking of just up'ing the tooth count of the pinion on my stock motor...but I was also considering the Align 430X motor...I will have to wait and see. If you move to the JGF motor let me know how you like it please...I may consider that as well.

ed. i've tried the 325's on they work great. i'll defintely keep you posted about the motor upgrade. I asked mike that same question when i was at his store. I asked him if the align 430x would fit right in and work. he said yes. but he recommended the JGF motors. he was impressed. also he said use the 450 motors on this bird. so the align 450 motor would work as well.

It is with great pride and joy that I announce...
The Black Hawk is up and flying again!

Here are some pcis...One is the pieces left from the rotor head after the crash. One comparing size of grips...not as big as I thought, just looked massive. One of the front and side. From comparing from the pics on Ka-Planes it looks very much like the SE version.
I did have to switch the anti-rotation link from one side to the other and I think I need to heat and bend the swashplate mount just a little to remove some rubbing I get with the cyclic controls...but it does not effect hovering at the moment so I will see when I go to fly this morning before work if it is a major problem or not!

Noob- I was talking with a heli guy at the LHS and I think I may go with the Scorpion motor if I decide to upgrade...Hovering in my rec room this morning I had no problems with head speed like I thought. I am running the 315's at the moment and may try out the 325's this weekend...but over all I am pleased with the conversion . I still may go to a 12 tooth pinion on the stock motor just to see what it can do....but for now I am just goin gto fly for a while...Geez I missed it

Got the little screw for the tail rotor yesterday, and had the heli out for a "hover" last night.! Looks good sofar. Stable as a rock! Also got the Xtreem kit (stage II) installed on the CX2. All I can say is WOW . It sure dosen't putt putt around the backyard now! So both heli's are up and running, now if I can just get a break in the weather here,I'll be ready to go. Here's a pic. of the BladeCX2,with the conversion. Ron

The FS-CT-6A is a programmable 6 channel radio not unlike the Spektrum DX_6. However, you have to have the cable and software to do this as it does not have a display. The small cable attached to your antennea it the binding cable for the unit. To bind the rx to the transmitter, or another rx if you have two of thier rxs on different planes:

1. remover all servos and batterys from the rx
2. Put jumper plug in battery spot.
3. Plug batter (or ESC with battery attached to it) into any other rx spot. (LEDs will be blinking now)
4. Press and hold "Bind" button on TX then power on (Kepp holding "Bind" button)
5. When LEDs go steady on, rx is bound to TX.

Still trying to obtain the cable for connecting to PC but I did mangae to get a manuial and the software.

Good luck

ps mail me if you want the manual.

Ok look, ka planes are now offering, not only the nitro powered heli but also the helicopter with same radio. He is now offering these 2.4 radio system 6 ch radio. It say
it is from Fly sky model FS-CT6A. When move the right stick side to side up and down, that actually effect my tail which goes a bit crazy!! At right stick which is tail and
trouttle well when i do right and left it moves but twitches. On chanel 4 which is the main connector from gyro that is connected to, well I placed a servo and it doesn't
get crazy. Only when I have the gyro connected. Connector is connected right because I checked also I went and fallowed how my gyro in black hawk 450 was connected.
It was fine so I switch gyros. My gp still have the problem. My black 450 with gyro from nitro, well that works. So gyro works. But when i tried gyro from 450 to my nitro
it got rid of some twitching. Ok on my nobs right one is label as vr(A) and switch next to it says SW.A and left one switch is SW.B and nob is VR (b). Also I don't understand
I found mail connector each end with a sleve ( to hook up the other male side) which is not even connected with the antana of my transmitter. Well kindof it is. Ah I don't know
how to explain it. I just don't know **** is that for. I might setup my cam and record, but dunno yet. Anybody know whats up? What I should do and whats these nubs for?
Also it didn't came with NOOOOOOOOOO instruction also I found this link http://www.globalrchobby.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=39&products_id=347&osCsid=930fa1013d186f6bab6043a6603d612a which is selling this radio system and hell, it comes with usb cables to use ur own computer
to program this radio. But I cant find any information. Right now I am working on my blackhawk 450 to go flying tomarrow. I need to redo and tie up everything up.
Darn. So any ideas guys?
