From the looks of it you would be up and flying Noob.
My wish list would be;
Scorpion HK2221 -6 V2 motor
Dynam 40 amp ESC
3-HS-65MG on the cyclic
LogicTech 2100T Gyro with the LogicTech 3100 servo
(with possibly running a seperate BEC to up the voltage to 6v for the servos to operate faster, but for that I would have to change the tail servo.)
and run the Thunder power 2200mah 11.1v 25C or Kong Power 2200mah 11.1v 25C or the Flight Power EVO 25 2500mah 25C on it.
That would rock!
But I am dreaming...lots of $$$ for that set up.

hey Ed. just pulled the trigger on those parts i wanted. grand total of $265 bucks. plus what i've paid for the exi 450 that still comes out under $400. that's not bad considering the motor and esc combo cost 110 alone. this bird will defintely be more powerful than the blackhawk. finally i can use my thunderpower lipo that i've put away. this thing is gonna be a beast. ..if its flys better than the blackhawk (which i think it will because of better esc and motor) i will swap out the gy401 and 9650 from the blackhawk.

i ordered it tonight so its will be here by Friday.

it should be running by this weekend or by monday of next week. can't to take her for a spin. i've heard alot of positive things about this heli. and since its 100% compatible with trex 450se v2 parts....crashing it is no big deal when i can drive 10 minutes to the LHS...

the gyro you got for the exi isn't that good..you'd be better off swapping it to the BH and putting the 401 and 9650 on the exi. as far as a hurricane 550... GET ONE.. I just placed my order yesterday.. I have a feeling that my BH will either become a beater heli, or it'll go on sale after I get the 550. the BH is a great heli, but it's just to small for me and my aging eyes. besides, the 550 will be more stable in the wind.

kool...which version kaelan? i know the telebee isn't all that good. doggone it .....i'm gonna put the telebee on my HBK2 and get either the logitech or another gy401. i just wish the gy401 was so damn expensive. but its holding power is legendary. at this rate i'm gonna be hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt in 10 years.

I just ordered http://flying-hobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=3_30_36&products_id=2171 but had them swap the motor out for the zpower Z20A-980kv. it's more efficient and much easier on the batteries. since I'm not into 3D it should be plenty of motor for me. if I change my mind and flying style later I can always swap out for a Z30-1110

Awesome Noob! I can hardly wait for your first flight report!
We had rain this evening but after it stopped I got out and flew 2 packs...I practised my flips tonight and started with some rolls as well. The BH perfomed well. On my second pack I was showing my wife my accomplishments in stunts...lol...then I went to nose in hover...I was still a little hyper from showing her a few stationary flips and a couple of rolls...I got neverous and lost my control orientation...rofl...next thing I know the heli is flying towards me and flying fast!!!! I pulled it up and around just before it hit my house...I was almost knife edge at that point...full throttle and pulled it straight...I could not believe I saved it. I definately had an on my shoulder this evening!
I think I want to up the head speed on my BH though. When I went over on one of the flips even with full negative collective it did not feel like it was holding it self up...I could hear it bog as I went full negative collective to pull it over...Not sure if I am going to just go with a 12 tooth pinion on the stock motor or change out to a better motor...I may try bigger batteries also...just not sure.
Any Advice?

noob it will fly just great, a good gyro is important once your skils advance though. the 55,s dont hold center very well and the gears stripp easy in wrecks. But total cost are kept down with our set up and it will work just great

I got the HS-65 mgs ready(another 100 bucks lol), but the bodies are deeper than the stock servos. What are you guys doing about that:?
I am new to the lipo scene. What does the C rating mean? I am guessing sustained current flow with higer being better?
Still cannot get parts from banana hobby (losers) they sent me a used bade holder that was stripped out worse than the one it was supposed to replace. I am calling the BBB on those guys. Unbelieveable.
Hopefully Ka-planes will have the Bell-Hiller parts soon. I was told they were on order so i am crossing my fingers. Sucks to have the heli for three weeks and still not have flown it once.
