hobbycity has a 4850kv motor for 15 bucks.. people are putting it in their trex450 and they loved it, unbelieveable headspeed, i'm thinking of getting one.. one comment i read about it is you have to use at least an 80amp esc ... .. Can't beat the price on this motor! the 80 amp esc would cost you 150$..

HeliTubbies...you are out of control! ROFL
Well...I would try the ESC first ginnz...
The Trex is flying...
The wife wanted pictures of me building it...it was not my idea! Really it wasn't...
So in having fun with it...here is a slide show of the build I put together
[/URL]]Trex Build

I hope this works for you all....

Congrats on the new heli! How does it compare to the BH? I got a couple of flights in yesterday am. before the weather (rain) set it. Flew a couple of figure eight circuts,a back flip, one roll, and a loop. I'm finally getting real comfortable flying the BH (pucker factor down to around 3) Time to order more parts ! My problem is,I still like to fly my jets too,so some money goes here, and some money goes there, ect. It's a good thing my wife is so understanding. I also took the O'l FP out for a flight, man it will make you appreciate a good flying heli, but it's fun too! RR

The Rex is an amzing heli Ron...super stable, even more than the BH. It is bigger than the BH450 by an inch or so...more than I expected.
I flew both last night when the winds died down as the sunset...The Trex motor gives you a much higher head speed so cyclic control is great. The Black Hawk with the CF blades and paddles flies much better in my opinion, because the head speed is higher so it gives you better stability and control.
As it was getting dark, I flew out 2 packs in the Trex and 2 in the BH. I did start having a hard time seeing the BH on my last flight and brought her in to quick...set her down hard, she tipped over messing up my new CF blades and bending the feathering shaft...no biggie I guess....but I should not have pushed it A little disappointed in myself for that...the need to fly was too great to resist.

I hear ya! The famous "one last flight" is almost a curse! Man the Trex sounds sweet! I'll have to check them out. I knew the two helis were almost the same machine with a few diffrences. One thing for sure, everyone carries Trex parts. I got a couple of flight in today (in the fog). Man that was diffrent ! You sure want to keep the heli close,or it's just gone into thin air,or should I say "thick" air ! Ron

The biggest differences Ron...are the servos are connected directly to the swash plate…Not exactly sure what the difference in control means...but I am sure it helps to prevent slop developing in the linkages to the swash and I set mine up to use the angled battery plate which puts the battery closer to the center of gravity....

As I said with CF blades and the higher head speed on the BH it is a different helicopter...more response which I think makes it easier to control. I will definitely get a better motor for the BH soon which I think will make this heli more agile…

It is exciting to have 2 really good helis to fly now...I am now looking forwad to nicer weather with less wind...

congrats on the new heli Ed!! here's a pic of my new one..

Hurricane 550 to bad my ESC was dead out of the box or I'd have flight pics from the weekend

has anyone here looked at or tried the TIG 325mm CF blades from Hobby City? they're priced right at $18 bucks. thinking of getting a couple sets of those and some of the TIG 500mm CF Blades for my Hurricane. I just need to get a replacement ESC first.

Very Nice Looking Heli there Kaelan!!!!!
I was considering going to the larger 550 size...but decided that if I have two and one goes down I can interchange parts that are compatible if I need to and keep at least one flying.

thanks!.. I thought about getting another 450 size heli for a while then decided I wanted something more stable in the wind. Seems like the wind is always blowing on days that I can get out to fly...not to mention easier to see in the air

i bought 6 of these last month.

so far i really like them! for the price, they CANNOT be beat IMO. and the shipping from HK was real quick! it took around 7 days to get here. so far ive ordered 3 times from them, and all 3 times ive been real impressed.

ive got 7 batteries, 2 esc's, an esc programming card, and 4 servo's from them. all in good order. and all real cheap.
