the wildest thing just happened. Mike from ka-planes just put on a Holiday special on the 450EP and has added a free bonus item as a giveaway with the purchase. He emailed me and wrote that he is also offering the bonus item to the 450EP buyers that bought one in November.

What's the holiday special?

Ugh, I missed it by a month or so

Mike at Ka-Planes is a stand-up great guy ... I purchased a couple extra Mega-Power lipo batteries and one started to puff on me, I contacted him and he's going to send me a replacement one as long as I return the defective one

Now that I have an all metal head and tail, man this heli is so super smooth and stable! I got my brother-in-law a Falcon3D and while it is a nice heli (400 size) it is no where near as powerful and stable as the Blackhawk 450! I painted my stock canopy to see how the red will look (the stock one was cracked in several spots due to a close call/impact I had with it).

Took pics this AM with my cell phone;

Thanks freddonner!

Oh wow, that's very cool ... so you had a choice of those?

I taped off the window with blue painter's masking tape and trimmed it with a hobby knife. Yeah I liked the included stickers and may even put the black one's on now, but am not sure yet. I have a Pro-Line Assault body that I am waiting to paint the same red, but am deciding on if I want to mask out a design or not and time to do it.

I've got aluminum landing struts on the way, along with a Futaba digital tail servo, and aluminum tail servo mounts.

I plan to swap out the stock RX and TX combo (not that anyting is wrong with it at all) and install a Futaba 6EXHP TX / RX, then take the stock stuff and put that into my brother-in-law's Falcon3D. Have a lot to do this winter and while I will be off for parental leave (first one). But with it being 50 today with calm winds, I may have to get some outdoor flying time in

Awesome!! I was hesitant to fly today because it is rather windy, but I cranked up my new Black Hawk 450EP and this baby can fly. I learned on an Esky FP and just a sim but this is so much better than what I had I can't believe the difference. I hovered then did some lateral moves for now, but I am very pleased with how this helicopter performs. Hooray to Mike at ka-planes!! If this works out may get the 500SE too!

day 2, even better! another great low wind day and sorry, I just love this 450EP. My only concern is trying to go to fast that I screw up things and lose control. One day, one battery at a time (maybe two batteries lol)

rebuilt mine last night when i got the parts.

SWEET had a hover so stable, i had all the carbon fiber blades and canopy and it flew flat and level just the way i got it from mike.

blade tracking was about a 1/4" off but i think that close enough before i dump it again. still impressed with this heli.

now if i can hover through a battery pack before i have to land it.

i charged the battery full last night with the balancer and this morning when i was hovering [just starting] the throttle jumped down quickly on its own. i had this happen before but thought it was a low battery. ill try the ferrite ring. the rest of the hovering went fine though.

im happy again,i hate having a busted heli sittin on the shelf

seems like everytime i buy something a month or so later they either go on sell or you get upgraded or free gifts.. i think i bought mine in sept so i missed out on mikes new deal.. maybe if i get the hurricane 550 off of him he will give me something:}:}

either way i am still going to get it.. mike from ka-planes is one hell of a guy and i would tell everyone that ask to buy from him.. he is honest, a fast shipper and to this day he still returns my emails regarding the bh i bought 2 months ago.. wish this guy lived closer so i could shake his hand..

mike from ushobbysupply is also 1 hell of a guy.. he also is very customer service savy.. fast shipper and a great help.. he does live close to me and has invited me to his house twice now to help me out.. these 2 guys are the only 2 i will EVER do buisness with..

mike at ka-planes must be an email guru because we exchange some emails too. my blackhawk is great and i am very glad i went this route. i will stick with the composites 450EP for a while because i have no need to change, though the se looks tempting. ushobby's advice makes sense.

Re: Antenna Wire

What does everyone do with the clump of antenna wire?...is it OK to
wrap around one of the tail struts?

Re: New BH Wants to Spin Counterclockwise (Left)

When the BH arrived this week, the rudder trim on theTX was all the way
right...that position holds the tail OK, but without it, BH wants to spin counter
clockwise (left)...is this a problem?..any thoughts?....new to CCCP in
Houston, John H.

1. after I push it through the antenna straw I tie it back to the outside of the straw
2. check all tabs and re-center them so that any move in shipping container or accidentally when packing or unpacking doesnt carry over. they should tested close to dead center except throttle dead zero. if you are losing tail, adjust the gyro setting on the radio and make sure the gyro engages before you move the helicopter.
3. if you got it from mike, write him he keeps records

Hello John,

I reset all my trims to neutral then only has a click or two max to have it perfect. If you move the helicopter after you plug it in, before the gyro kicks in, you will not get it to engage correctly. But it sounds more like a gyro sensitivty adjustment to me. A little different than your CX2 and my FP.

jmhh you are turning on the radio first then plugging the battery in on the copter? i did this and had results like yours.

your rudder trim should be centered not off to one side. also let the heli sit flat on the ground with radio on plug the battery in dont touch it for 3-4 seconds then put canopy on. the gyro needs to set itself

Hi SR again...found the "straw" ...small black tube about 10.5
inches long....so you push the antenna line through it...then
how to attach it (the straw) to the Heli and where to attach it?
...cheers, John H

there are holders on the iniside of the skids that the straw goes through. wrap the antenna around the skids a couple of times then through the straw.

SR - I would look in the TREX "kit ads" and take a similar and add between $100 and $150 for the add ons
