Alright i just bought an hpi rs4 rtr 3 +evo. What exact engine does it come with stock? I have read Nitro Star G3 others say its a T15. Which is it and what are the exact specs. I also want to add an RB innovations Super charger and nitrous kit but i want to get the general consesus of those products first. thanks in advance.

it has the t-15, and on newer models the 18ss. the t-15 has 1,2hp, and the 18ss 1,5hp.

and withe the supercharger and nox. thats just stupid(specially when your a noob) . its much better to just get an bigger/better engine.

The TZ is a great engine it just makes stupid power and will snap driveshafts and other drivetrain parts but properly built and set up the TZ must fly. I have the .18 CVR which rips I could just imagine the TZ. Check out this store http://www.smfstore.com/index.php?cPath=196_195

i think the tz wil be to much. .. but check out this

http://www.osengines.com/engines/osmg2104.html

th os cv-rx .18 is a direct fit into your car i have the i have the cv-rx in my rush evo and its great

if your engine is silver you have the t-15, and if its black or purple you have the 18ss. (the os cvrx is a little bit better and its cheaper than the 18ss...)

isnt the Tz a direct fit? i think i like the idea of "stupid power". so im gonna go in this direction. price wise i really dont mind what ever the price is so be it. any other reccomendations on shaft components, clutch and brake setups.

You may have a problem mounting the exhaust the exhaust port is on the back of the engine on the TZ where as the cvr is on the side like the stock engine. If you search this site you can find pics of a TZ mounted in an Evo!! As for a clutch all I can think of is the HPI racing clutch its pretty durable and as for shafts a fellow on here was using the rd logics cvd's you can find them on e bay quite cheap I have no personal experience but he said they were holding up last i knew. I will try and find the thread and PM it to you!! Sit tight

As you progress in the hobby and your build you will quickly realize that supercharging and nitrous for these engines is all a money making gimmick. Most people can barely tune an engine yet supercharge one or put nos on it. That stuff is all crap stick with upgrading engines if you want power and maximum tuning!! Trust me

The TZ is a powerful engine. i had one when i had my rs4 3 and the biggest issue i had was find tires that not "drift" everytime i tuched the throttle ( yes the engine is that powerful ) the rear exhaust can be a bit of an issue also. i had to modd my head to get it to fit correctly.

And yes supercharging is a load of BS so do even waste brainpower on that crap nitro does work but only if your a pro with too much time and money(dont juice your engine)

The OS .18 CVR is a great engine. and they start around $109 if not cheaper

Other good mods to look at are the HPI racing clutch, light weight flywheel, CF battery tray etc...
" A good tuned engine with a good exhaust is all you should need "

well I have identified the engine i have it is the T3.0 not the t15. so how is this compared to the Os 18Tz(p) with 11k carb??? it seems they are close spec wise.

Powerwise they are in the same ball park, im not going to go into details with rpm levels or tech stuff but for the cost of getting a TZ engine your better off just getting a better tuned pipe and change your gearing. The .18TZ is said to have 3.0cc and the T3.0 has 3.0cc
(hence the name) My .18TZ engine with my Vantage racing pipe was more power then what the cars chassis could handle
