Any way I found with FAI fuel a single cell is not quite enough especially on cold mornings or if you flood it a little it just wont have the burn power. I use 2 C cell 3600 in series with about 1 1/2" nichrome wire to drop the voltage a little.Other guys here in Vic use these http://www.batteriesplus.com.au/pd/810/273/hawker-08000004-x-cell/ and just use long leads of a small diameter wire to drop the power a little, best thing this mob is in WA.

Status: offline 		That's the same battery that you use in the old Globee fireplugs. They were pretty simple, too - the 2V battery, a small (1 ohm if I remember correctly) 25 watt pot for dialing down the current a bit, one wrap of the wire around a meter movement (not even directly connected, just magnetic coupling) and all in a nice plastic case.

The Cyclon also comes in a 2.5 AH size that's about the size of a D cell. I just picked up one of those, will use like above, just a length of wire and a plug clip. Hard to get much simpler than that!
