Tommy, If I could send you some I would. Were pretty saturated here. But in about a month or so well be crying for rain. We usually get a bit dry here in the summer. Actually, I lucked out. I only got my 1/10th scale muddy. ITs all clean and ready for the next race. They rain came before I got to race the Inferno. My brother in law.............................well thats a different story. He raced his REVO and his Tryggy. Man oh man did they get muddy. I bet at least a pound of extra weight because of the mud? Im sure he'll chime in on this thread when he sees this? He reads this thread a lot. Right Bro?

It is pretty wet here as well, also they are re-builidng the track i usually bash at. So yesterday I pulled out the electric and headed to the electric track, it was a bit wet but i was in need of some RC so drove the electric around avoiding the worst of the puddles. Well, I fried my esc. Looks like I might just need to go brushless on that thing and be done with it.

That stinks. Better to fry a conventional SC as opposed to a brushless one I would think? GB - Whats the difference between the electric and nitro tracks? Have any pics?

Hello new to this forum, I just got my buggy on Friday and have tried all weekend to start it. Grr it it looks like I got one of the bad GXR28. I am just going to bash with the buggy and take to track every once in awhile, if any one would have a good suggestions for good motor that dose not cost to much. I have between $156 and $200.00 to spend. I would like to either use a roto start or a pulls start since i do nont have bump box. Thanks all in advance for any information.

The electric track is for 1/10 electrics. They run stock and modified 2wd buggy classes and also 4wd when there are enough cars. The track is much smaller than the nitro but it is pretty good as they keep it quite well maintained.
I have a Mamba Max brushless system on the way this week which should make it pretty insane as the track is quite tight.
The nitro track used to be pretty rough as they used to get idiots going down with motor bikes and ripping it up. However they have been rebuilding the track over the last couple of months and doing serious work and putting a fence around it to keep the idiots out. It looks like it is going to be a really awesome track and I can't wait to run my 1/8 buggy on it as it has been a couple of months since I dropped in a new engine and I haven't been able to take it on a track at all. I will snap some pics of both tracks next time I am down there.

Hey guys I did my first race this past Sunday. Wow it was awesome to compete but my buggy let me down some what. The steering is not up to scratch & the shocks were way too soft for the track. The car was all over the road. I finished fifth in qualifying but we did not race in the A-main because it started to rain. The car turns too wide , any suggestions as to what could be wrong , maybe the steering servo is too weak or something ? What can I do about the shocks ? Replace oil maybe ? better springs maybe ?

I'm currently using 20% nitro fuel , if I change to 25% would it damage my engine , Is it a good idea to change the percentage ? Are there any benefits ?

REEG - The only thing you will have to do when changing from 20 to 25 is to retune. I just changed from Trinity Platinum 20% to Byrons Gen2 25%. All it took was a little retuning. If you get into the 30-33 percent range, I think head shimming needs to be done? Dont know for sure but I read it somewhere? Regarding your turning problem. I can really help you with that. I have mine set up so it turns on a dime. I can turn so tight if I want to. Did lots of experimenting, and some upgrades too. I need to know what servo you have? What servo arm you have? Where you have your suspension points set up? Example top shocks inner hole, bottom outer, etc. What springs do you have? What diff oils do you have? What tires do you use? After that, Ill be able to help you out. All of that in combination is important for good steering. Oh, and sway bars or no sway bars? Pics of your set up would help too.

Hi Jerz . The info would be appreciated. The car is still standard from the tyres to the diff oils. I've only replaced the front shocks. The servo is still the standard Kyosho servo. I'll take a few pics & load them up for you .
Thanks in advance.

Hi Jerz , Could I maybe ask you to post a few pics of your buggies front suspension & also perhaps explain what you have have replaced or modified etc. I'm sure you will be able to post pictures much faster than I could. Thanks

Jerzferno - Sounds like you got your buggy dialled! I would love to know more about your setup as well as I am currently not happy with my buggy's turning as well.
I was playing with the ackerman setting and I thought that the inner most setting on the steering plate would give more ackerman, yet when I asked on this forum I was told the opposite. Is this correct?

My settings at the moment are as follows:

Front-
Springs/oil: Ofna yellow (soft) with 40 wt oil (track was really choppy).
Shock mounts: Lower in the outside setting, upper in the higher row and middle hole.
About 2 deg negative camber and 1 degree toe-out.
Steering Plate: Middle.
Sway bars: the thinnest kyosho ones in the pack.
Total Castor: 22 degrees.

Rear-
Springs/Oil: Ofna yellow (soft) and 45 wt oil.
Shock mounts: Lower in the outside setting, upper in the higher row and middle hole.
About 2 degrees negative camber and 2 deg toe-in.
Sway bars - the standard kyoho one, i think it is 2.5mm.

Diffs -
5k - 7k and 3k for front, centre, rear.

Tyres - Run either bowties M3 or badlands XTR depending on track condition.

How does your setup compare?
