Jerz, sounds great. I'm happy for you!

What modifications have you made which gives you this satisfying steering you mentioned?

Jerz - Good to hear the racing is going well. I think this buggy definitely is better than a lot of people give it credit for.

Rossi - 3 wins on the trot!! Stoked!!

Thanks guys. GB you are correct. Not too many give this buggy the benefit of the doubt. One thing that I really tried to prove was how well this buggy is against the big boys. Theres one guy who is racing a brushless converted LOSI 8. Hes the only one so they let him run with the Nitros. That buggy is screaming fast and powerful. He was in my heat. So I just wanted to finish ahead of him. I killed him in the tight turns because brushless conversions DO NOT have good braking. So I not only finished ahead of him in qualifying, I lapped him in my heat. LOL Ehsan, here are the things I did to improve my steering. They are not in any particular order.
1. Diff fluids.
2. Stronger steering servo
3. Sway Bars
4. Different springs
5. Many trials on shock mount locations and spring dampening.
6. Shock oil, 35wt works for me with stock piston
7. Tires, best for your track conditions
8. Remove 50% of the steering stops fromt he lower A Arms
9. Installed a slightly longer servo arm to get more travel in the steering
10. Adjust ackerman arm. I have mine on the outermost hole. Maybe not the best position for steering? But when I installed the longer servo arm and shaved the steering stops, the steering link bolts were hitting under the steering brace. So I put the links on the outer most hole just to get more clearance/travel. I gotta tell you, my steering may be the best at my track. My brother in law (Spikeitaudi) usually reads this thread. Im sure when he sees this post he'll chime in. If you do any of these, do ONE at a time. Some make drastic changes to the steering. It will be like learning to drive it all over again. I had to get used to it because I would loop it in turns because I can turn so sharp. But ill tell ya what. Im getting better with it now. I can point my buggy anywhere I want it. And that makes a big defference for me in racing. On opening day I messed around with my steering trim. I had only about 50% of my steering. Qualified 2nd in the B, and finished 8th in the B. But yesterday, WOW. Can you tell im happy? LOL

Jerzferno can turn inside of any buggy whenever he wants. The turning on his buggy is just plain rediculous. Both my Revo and Hyper ST turn on a dime, but his buggy puts it to shame. Jerzferno was racing Losi Eights, RC8 (first one at our track), Mugens and some others brands and smoked most. Watching him climb positions in the A-main was a treat to watch.

Derek - Good Luck with the CEN. I have never seen any CEN run. Not a popular make around here. Wish you well. Nice chatting with you.

The Inferno US Sports Truggy is almost identical to the buggy. Its wider, longer, has bigger tires and a truck body on it. Everything else is about the same. I dont know about any other makes. Im a Kyosho racer.

eshan - Nice video. Do you see a lot of residue on your body behind the exhaust stinger? You have lots of blue smoke coming out of your exhaust. I think you may be on the rich side? Lean it out a bit and you should see much better performance. Seems like your engine is struggling just a bit? But dont go too lean. Better to be slightly rich.

Tommy, just read your post about your upcoming first race. Good luck. Oh by the way..........the balanced tires were awesome. I could tell the difference.

Thanks Jerz, will let you know what happens.. ...still trying to figure out a way of balancing my tires. Think I've come up with an idea, just need to find two tapered rubber or silicone dremel heads that have long enough pins to sit on the resting blocks. Will take pics if i can ever sort it out.

Hi Guys!
After a year of owning electric Mini Inferno the time for "a big brother" had come. So I just bought Inferno US Sports and I have had some troubles with break in. After I start (using the pull start) sometimes the engine starts in reverse and sometimes even after the engine started normally it switches in low revs from going forwards to go backwards. Anyway, I was trying to turn the fly wheel and I can turn it both directions, I thought there must be a one way bearing or something? So how can I turn it both directions and still be able to start the engine? Sorry for my English, hope you will understand what I mean. Everything described happened while running the car on stand, it has not touched the ground yet. I am looking forward to see her running so much, any help is much appreciated! THANK YOU! Marek

Marek:
Read through this thread. I remember someone else having that same problem. Sorry the thread is so long, but thats the best I can do for you. Maybe the guy who had that problem will answer and help you better?
