Okay, so you have thought about this for a while I see. I'd like to go electric but first I need to conquer nitro. I'm also getting a bit tired of adjusting the engine, cleaning afterwards etc. but I love the sound a nitro car makes when it's flying past. One of the guys on this site has a saying 'Electrics run but nitro flies'

REEG, Im not going to defend one over the other, and criticize any either. Im just watching these electric guys charge, plug and run. Thats it. I want to do that too. As for electrics not being fast.............if you havent seen one, I mean a guy who knows what hes doing, then just wait till ya do. Not ALL electrics are fast as not all nitros are fast. The guys that know how to tune, set up, spec out ESC's and brushless, right lipos, and can drive.............those are the fast guys. Like I said earlier, an electric SPANKED the nitro guys at our last race. It wasnt even close. There was one nitro car on the same lap as the winner, and given another lap or two, he would have gone down a lap as well. Just incredible how he pulled away from the nitros out of the corners. And to get up to speed in a short straight. WOW. Hey, Im one of those nitro guys so I can say it. I was extremely impressed. Im going to give it a try and see how I like it. The V-SPEC will be saturated in after run and sealed up just in case? Who knows..............I may hate it? Well just have to wait and see? It'll be a fun winter project thats for sure.

The conversion has begun. Heres shots of what it looked like after its final nitro race and what it looks like now. I did a complete inspection to see what needs to be replaced. After 2 years of racing, I need to replace worn rear out drives, front and rear hinge pin plates (blue aluminum plates) mud guards (dont want dirt entering where the exhaust stinger used to be), and worn center shafts. Now thats not bad at all considering all the running it did in 2 years. Ill keep you posted on the conversion. This will take awhile since the first race isnt until April 09. LOL

REEG - The roller is all cleaned, a few worn drive line parts replaced, and new 3.5mm Kyosho shocks installed. Im designing a new body from the ground up. Should be really cool and most definately different than anything out there. Heres a few pics of the roller.

Looks like your electric conversion is well under way Jerzferno - very interested to see how it goes.
All of the 1/8 electrics I have seen have been nothing short of amazing!!

Have you decided on esc, motor, batteries etc?
