Hi
Nice buggy !
I also have a Kyosho inferno US sports -- mine looks about the same as yours at the moment - I haven't had a chance to do any modifications -- I don't actually need to at this stage -- Our races have basically come to an end so I'll be modifying etc. over the December period -- What engine will you be fitting to your buggy & what radio will you use ?

Heres a few action shots of my last race of the season. Qualified second in the B-Main. Bumped up to the A-Main and finished 4th.

Hi Jerz
Great pics
I'll be doing a few mods over the December period -- The races have come to an end for the year -- Next year I'll be competing in on road & off road races.
I've bought a 1/10th scale on road car -- It came unassembled so I had to build it from scratch -- It was great ! It took about 16 or so hours to complete. My cousin helped me build it -- I can officially say that I've built my own car -- The building process was great -- Every set came in little bags so you could not go wrong -- The body I will have to still paint & cut out --- In the mean time I've bought a pre painted body --- This hobby is addictive

Addictive is an understatement! What kind of upgrades are you planning on doing? I have done the following to mine:
2 different sets of tires/rims
New body (Still working on my vacuum forming project. Pretty soon. Its looking REEEEEEEALY cool. Just a hint........imagine a "jet fighter"
Spektrum Radio system (on 2 other models too)
JR 9000TS steering servo
OS V-Spec .21 Engine
OS 2000 header
OS 2060 Tuned pipe
Proline High Down Force Wing
Scratch built front chassis stiffener
OFNA Diff lube
Kyosho shock springs (blue and white)
Added 2 more spider gears to each diff
Sway bars front and rear
Trinity Platinum 20% Fuel

Thats it. No more plans for upgrades, dont really need anymore. 4th place finish in the A-Main so far. Now I just need to driver this thing better! LOL

Hi Jerz
I don't have any major plans but here is my list so far:
2 different sets of tyres/rims
STS 30 racing engine -- D30m
racing clutch
racing tuned pipe
Kyosho heavy duty springs - 2 sets
I'll buy a clear body & paint it myself -- I don't have the tools etc. to make my own mould yet --
I'll decide next year about which radio system to use.
I'll check on a new wing as well.
I'm using 20% fuel at the moment -- I'll change it to 25% next year.
I can't wait to see what youv'e made -- a jet fighter ??
Full time racing is definetly on the cards next year --- on road & off road --- YES PLEASE !!!!
My camera will also be sorted out soon -- I'll post some pics soon.
Cheers

REEG - Nice list of upgrades. A .30 engine? WOW No rules where you race? My track has the following engine rule for buggies - any .21 engine, non modified. RTR's can run the engine they came with. If you change an RTR engine, it must be with the same engine, otherwise, you must go to a .21. Ill be honest with you, this OS .21 V-spec is faster than the .28's the buggy came with. Which brings me back to the reason for this post. I highly recommend you convert your differentials to 4 spider gears. While you are doing that you should use diff lube instead of the grease the buggy came with, unless you have done that already? The extra spider gears make the diffs stronger. I think that .30 engine will shread the stock differentials? Just a thought.

Thanks again for the info -- Do you think the Kyosho 2 speed with 15/19 gears would work ?
I also think a team infinity pipe would also work well.

REEG - cant help you on either of those questions. Im an OS guy. LOL But for the most part, any pipe should work fine. Pipes are designed for top end power, low end power, mid range power based on their shape and internal baffeling. You should read up on the pipe you want to install, see what it ti designed to do, then see if thats the kind of performance you are looking for. As far as a 2 speed tranny? Is this for your inferno? Why would you want a 2 speed tranny on an off road buggy? Unless the track you run on is all long straights, you should stick with the stock configuration. Change the spur gear and or clutch bell to get different performance. Its a lot cheaper, doesnt add weight, less to maintain, and something you dont need to keep spare parts on hand. If it for your on road car...........whats the track like you race on? Try diff clutch bell combos for the same reasons I mentioned. If its flat out speed you want just to run back and forth, then get the 2 speed. Help me out with exactly what you want, and which car its for?

Hi
I was a little confused for a moment -- This will be the changes on my inferno GT -- what O.S engine could I fit on my inferno GT for high top end?
My inferno buggy actually needs a new clutch again -- I replaced it recently with the standard clutch -- The car has too much power for the stupid standard clutch -- I'll fit a racing clutch over the weekend -- What type of tyre do you have for your inferno buggy?

REEG - I have one full racing season on the stock clutch. I even ran a few races with the OS V-Spec. Something must be wrong since you keep wearing clutches out? What keeps happening to your clutches? Stretched/broken springs? Worn shoes? Any bearing problems?
Im not familiar with the GT. Its kind of like the Inferno buggy though right? The stock Kyosho .28 comes with engine mounts as part of the engine block. If you go to another brand of engine, you will have to purchase the engine mount kit for the Inferno 7.5. Thats what I used on my OS V-Spec. Works great. With this set up, you can remove your engine for maintenance/cleaning, and not worry about messing up your gear mesh. The mounts stay bolted to the chassis. As far as what OS engine you can install for high end, probably any will do. They are solid performers. You need to mess around with your clutch bell/spur gear ratios to achieve high top end. Keep in mind, high top end, mean poor low end. Your model could suffer that low end grunt needed to rocket out of turns. Good low end, will make your top end suffer. Your model can top out on speed before it gets to the end of the straightawy. You want your model to keep pulling through a staright so it always accelerates. Mess around with the combos. 1 tooth higher or lower will make a difference. You will be surprised. Try to get your vehicle set up for a "happy medium". A well balanced car will be much better than a car with all top end, or all low end.
For tires, I am using Proline Bow Ties and Hole Shots. 90% of the time Im using the Hole Shots. On my T-MAXX I am using GRP Micro Monster tires. I REALLY like the GRP tires. They come with internal ribs to prevent ballooning, precut and installed foams (no wrestling with them to get even balanced tires), great quality, and are less expensive. I am going to make the switch to GRPs next season for my buggy. They make a few tires that are similar to the Prolines.
