Well, there's the Great Pains C182ARF, but it's smaller than you said.

Well, thats close, but 1/7th is what I really want. Just to stay in line with my TF kits. If all else fails I'll probably go 40 size, I'm not really into the really big stuff yet.

Thanks for the posts

Digit, check out the Pica website www.picaweb.com. The 1/6 Cessna has a 72" wing span,.The TF is a bit larger with a 81" wing span. The 1/5 scale I'm working on has an 86" wing.

The Pica looks like a nice kit. It couldn't come in any closer to 1/6th scale if it tried by my calculations.

Hey, do you need more power for a plane on floats as compared to regular land takeoffs?

If you can take off from a nicely mowed grass field with about 75% power, you should have enough for getting off the water.
An underpowered flaotplane is a recipe for disaster in the average sport flyers hands.
I can not tell you how many times I have seen a plane wobble in to the air, stall and splash in to the drink because the pilot horsed it off the water. All that was required was a few more feet on the step and a bit more speed, and everything would have been fine.
Once in the air, there is virtualy no difference except for total airspeed.
