RS2K -> LiPoDapter (Dapter) for A123s (9/4/2007 12:30:27 PM)

It seems to me the Dapter does the brainy part of the charging. If I have a walmart charger set to charge at 22v and 8 amps will the Dapter stop the charging process once a 6S1P A123 is charged? Is this not a good idea? I am looking at setting a few A123 6S1P packs made but I am lacking a charger.

If I udnerstand your question correctly the answer is Yes on both counts. My 6S packs charge to 20,+ volts so 22 sounds a bit high, but various threads indicate that A123s simple self-discharge back to nominal voltage.

I have both a hacked Astro 109 and a Dual Dapter. I like the Dapter best.

Yep- but you must be sure your charger will provide 8 amps AT 22 volts -
My Dapter and Astro Flight Deluxe 12 is a great setup -I have looked at all the chargers on the market -that I can find- and this still beats em. I also hit the goose for a bit more as I found the stock setting is a bit lower than "full".
I am going to get another one .
