Hey guys and gals,

I have been reading alot of posts and haven't read anywhere about motor mounts installed up and to the right on ARF kits. I have a Cessna 182 RTF 4Ch. It flies great, the motor was already installed when I got it. I am in the process of building a piper cub from Great Planes.
My motor mount is up and to the right. Why is it. I hope to hear from someone soon.

Thanks in Advance
Mike

OOPS I just realized I'm on forum just for kit makers. MY bad

Is the prop shaft centerd on the plane? Pictures really help with this kind of assessments( front and side views)

Yes dear, I did glue my hand to the airplane to keep from dropping it.

Many models have 'right thrust' and 'down thrust' built into the firewall. Looking at the plane from the front, the engine/motor mount has to be above, and to the right of, the firewall center to put the prop in the center of the cowl.

I wondered also if placing the mount at that angle helped with the torque issue?. I have owned several rtf toy planes mostly air hogs and estes and most of those had the motor cocked that way.
My ARF is the Great Planes J-3 electricub. The cowl placement was right on with just a slight trimming.
Thanks for your input. When I get my other full build kit I will have more questions.

Mike
